I listened all my life to my mother who went through an early menopause at 43 and had me living in fear of when it would happen me. She was on HRT since 43 and got breast cancer at 64 because she was never taken off the stuff! She thankfully survived and is still alive and well :-)

I went through it at 53 and it was a breeze compared to what I was expecting. Yes I got flushes but to honest I didn't focus hugely on them. I rarely get them now. The rest I put down to the ageing process, the usual aches and pains, eyesight getting a bit weak but that's the same for everyone. I run, cycle, swim, hike and do yoga . I am not carrying any weight and I feel fantastic. No loss in libido either and thankfully I never took HRT. I think exercise helps HUGELY!! I wonder was I just lucky or is it in the mind .... i.e. I never focused on it at all??

I doubt the menopause is responsible for dental health (as caller suggests)..........that's part of the ageing process!
