EGO brand has good reviews and maybe worth a look - the EGO ST1400E-ST 35cm Line Trimmer is probably the model closest to the ones you have provided in the links and I think they come with a 5 year warranty - https://egopowerplus.ie

the lidl one's florabest are fine for home use, get 20-30min worktime out of them, usually come with a pack of 20 blades

I got a dewalt one last summer and I have no complaints.
The advantage to that one over the Stihl is there are so many other tools you can use the batteries for as well.

    ^^^^^^^^
That's the one alright. I got it from Toolfix in Dundalk and I also got the hedge cutter.
I have a multitude of 5 and 9 ah batteries already though so I got the body only options.
It suited me as I have a lot of other dewalt tools already.

Have petrol one from Lidl a number of years. Nothing wrong with it grand machine tbf. Just weighty in comparison to my battery tools

Maybe describe my main use case, along with standard trimming. I have about 200m of beech hedging which constantly has grass/weed growing. I have tried before with the old petrol to trim around them but it was a disaster

I was thinking along with battery been handy etc they have the little steel bar which would assist with not hitting the trees. Am I mad?
