True, for general use, cleaning patio and walls 2 or 3 times a year, does one need 170 bar ?

I have the aldi ferrex one, does the jobs around the house very well, no complaints. But I'd be leaning towards more pressure for same price ?

It says suction hose with filter required but not included.

That's a bit annoying, were would you get this?

Not needed if used with mains water.

I am in the market for one of these and welcome any advise as to what best.
    Also when are they available.

I got the Lidl one for 200 quid a few weeks back, looks like I paid over the top :-)

It’s great and does the job and should last the test of time so probably worth the investment

I think you need to compare the working pressure rather than theoretical Max pressure when looking at washers.

Having recently upgraded a washer to a working pressure of 140 I’d say go with as high as you can. Made a huge difference in cutting down the work on cobble lock driveway.

Another good feature to have is the long hose on a reel as you can cover a large area without having to move the machine around

I've an aldi one, think it's ferrex. 150 bar. It's done 7 years general cleaning work. Has a decent working radius, 10m hose on mine. Very happy with it, hasn't let me down. I don't bother using power washer fluid...

What i generally do is mix bleach and water and spray on whatever, i normally will do in winter ideally before there is a heavy spell of rain.
I find the washer great for spreading the stuff around and the rain will do the rest.
My washer died some weeks ago when i was doing.

I got the 170 bar from LIDL a few weeks ago . Got the long lance , pipe unblocker and patio cleaner as well all for approx €175.
My 2010 lidl PW died last year.

When i was looking at options, i wanted good power and a long high pressure hose to avoid having to reposition the washer every few minutes.
The patio cleaner was brilliant for my concrete driveway and patio and made the whole job much easier.
It also came with the special water blaster nozzle which is ideal for removing most stubborn things (don’t use on your car though :) )

In reality I would say they are both coming from the same factory just a different badge stuck onto them
Similar to a lot of products these days
I doubt either has a major build quality benefit, just buy in which shop has it

The 170 bar one from Lidl has a specific mention about an aluminium pump.

No mention of an aluminium pump on the other 2.

The 170 bar has a sound stamp of 97 decibels

The 135 bar has a sound stamp of 90 decibels

Is this a huge difference or would it be much of a muchness?

You're not going to notice any difference.

For the sake of 15 quid the more powerful in lidl is a no-brainer. Of course you'll probably have to queue from 7am to get one.

is there always a queue for these items?

No, last year for example there were big queues when they had garden furniture and exercise equipment. I’d think there’d be demand for these pressure washers at that price but could be wrong.

Will go with the parkside phd 170 b2.

Can anyone recommend a decent snow foam lance for this?

Not even sure what the connection size is, anyone know. 1/4 inch etc.

Seems the Lidl one is 170 bar (compared to this one 150bar) for half the price though?

    Are these in stock everywhere?

Tried a couple of Aldis for their version last week and was told they sold out fast. Haven't tried Lidl yet.

I ordered the below from Amazon but it hasn't shipped yet so I might cancel if I can get the Lidl 170 bar one.

You need to be very careful with the hoses on those washers.

They are very light and if they kink they will split.

The three year guarantee is a strongpoint.

It's not just the extra pressure it also gives you higher water volume. The number of litres a pressure washer discharges is as important as the pressure it delivers. TBH these washers give max pressure they will deliver.

They are grand for doing work on your average 3 bed semi or a townhouse. I hate to be cleaning a couple hundred sqft of patio's and footpaths with them. Most will not suck water from a barrell so often there max pressure is dependent on good water pressure from your tap.

For the sake of 30 euro I be buying the strongest one I could get. You get more fiddley faddley yokes with them as well.

are you saying you put bleach and water in the detergent bottle, would this be bad for the pressure washer? i.e. the bleach

Most washers dont ingest chemicals but use the end of the lance for attachment for the chemicals to be mixed with the water when spraying.

Some have removable lance and bottle inserts there.
