My Dad is hinting at piggy backing on my mothers London / Windsor trip. All she wants to do is go over, have a restful few days with the sister she hasn’t seen since before the pandemic….nice lie ons, pub lunches, leisurely walks and the evenings heading to nice restaurants, sitting in the nice tree lined garden and or just watching TV….

his idea of a holiday (which there is a time and a place for, not now though)… is going here, there, everywhere, sightseeing, tours and walking…ffs…he’s even started intimating an itinerary if he goes… . She is going away for a break… to do nada, recharge…… she made that quite clear…..but he’s a little proactive in terms of organising and neither the mother or the aunt want to be negotiating or compromising on a few days of doing absolutely nothing… he’s been told now, happily in no uncertain terms, suck it up and and stay quiet !

Perhaps I'm not observant enough but I haven't noticed any Swallows/Martins around the place yet. I can usually easily see them from my kitchen window in April.

Dear lorry drivers and boy racers of all ages, I know it may seem ridiculous, but this speed limit

means the speed limit is 50 km/hour. If it's slightly smaller than the usual speed limit sign and there are two small arrows underneath, one pointing up and one down, it means it's a continuation speed limit sign. I don't care if you don't like it, or if you think it's unfair, or if you believe the road conditions should allow you to drive faster, or if you're a stupid "look at how powerful my engine is" idiot. I don't even care that it's a national road. I'm doing 50k an hour, irrespective of how many times you flash your lights at me or beep the horn at me or tailgate me. F*ck right off. You should have gone to the loo before you started driving.

I have to be careful about grains and now its getting too warm for oat porridge I would normally switch to oak flakes.

Been keeping an eye on the price in several supermarkets and it rounds up to €5 in all that stock it. That box would last me a week, so a non runner.

Trialling the shelves for an alternative, few have oats and those that do, have seeds that make me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ta the lack of affordable choices for ppl with wheat/seed allergies. #notallseedsaregoodforeveryone

Got aggressively whistled at and then verbally abused in a line of traffic by a fat man on a mountain bike because I unintentionally impeded his slow progress by a matter of seconds.

I do not respond to whistles, I am not a dog and WTF are people so uptight about these days?

Due delivery of a package today.

I see the An Post van come into my estate this afternoon. Next thing, I hear something come thought the letterbox - no knock on the door. It's a missed delivery slip from An Post telling me the package is in the depot. I open the door and the postman hasn't even left my driveway yet.

"You have a delivery for me?"

"Yeah, it's in the depot. You can pick it up".

"But you're the postman. You're supposed to deliver it"

"The van was full this morning, so I left it behind".

"But I paid for delivery. Why should I have to pick it up?"

"There was no room in the van"

"But how it that my problem?"

"You'll have to pick it up".

    And off he goes.

So I get on to An Post chat. As soon as I put in the tracking number, they say

"We tried to deliver it, but there was no answer"

"No, you didn't try to deliver it, I spoke to the postman. He told me he didn't even put it in the van this morning"

    "Is your doorbell working?"

"Yes, but that has nothing to do with it. They didn't even try to knock, I caught the postman in my driveway, they didn't even have the parcel with them"

"Are you saying you actually spoke to the delivery agent?"

    "Yes!"

"Oh! Do you want to make a complaint?"

"Of course I do. You're supposed to be a deliver company. You can't be pretending you're delivering things!"

Anyway, they say they'll deliver it tomorrow.

    Shower of wasters...

The sun is pouring in the glass doors at the side of the kitchen and onto the treadmill. All is well, or is it ? Not quite ! Illuminated by said rays is a long and thin mark / scratch / indentation on the belt of said treadmill, around 14 centimetres x a small number of millimetres wide .. great 🙄😓

The machine was purchased 13/14 months ago… new, it’s been looked after and treated with kid gloves as the user manual determines it should be…cleaned regularly, lubricated to the timetable in the manual etc. and had one maintenance visit….for an incidental recalibration / realignment of the belt…

my initial determination is that somebody used it with some glass on their shoe…maybe even me ? then I’m of the realisation that such a long mark going ‘across’ the belt couldn’t have been caused by that so it’s a fûcking complete mystery… I heard breaking glass in the kitchen yesterday so I’m hoping that isn’t a cause as if it’s gone inside the machine things is fûcked. Maybe some glass found it’s way onto the belt and in an effort to sweep it off the belt got marked.. either way, all quiet on the western front and nobody is owning up…

future usage is going to be for myself only, I’m going to have to fold it up which is an inconvenience at best, already being annoying how any visitors regardless who they are here to see, especially kids, treat it like a fairground ride… which is never discouraged by parents or guardians…. Who knows… either way, I’d like just to have stuff, which I bought, that doesn’t get fûcked up by other people being careless and clumsy.

An Post make a meal out of getting letters to random addresses like "Joe, with red hair, back of the pub, Roscommon" but they are an utterly useless shambles post brexit, just run for the benefit of their staff many of whom are dead weight.

Still have an item from uk held for ransom for months now, but they haven't bothered their arses sending me the Revenue ransom note yet.

The OH who works from home has gone on a trip abroad to meet friends. This meant that I had to find a local dog minder to look after the mutt for today, Wednesday and Thursday while I take Friday and Monday off work. I felt so guilty dropping him off at the dog minder this morning, the poor guy was trying to run out and jump up on my leg. I'm sure he'll be okay for the day though. It was amusing watching the dog minder answer the door wearing a vest and skimpy briefs though 😅 He's a decent guy, just a bit rustic in his ways.

Got married over the weekend, best couple of days of my life, and we spent last night in a resort not too far away to recharge our batteries.

And who did I bump into only a cousin who I didn't invite to the wedding (because she didn't invite me to hers and I always felt she was a bit stuck up and distant compared to other extended family members). I say bumped into, when in fact she completely blanked me twice. I know she saw me too as her husband definitely gave me nod discreetly.

Certainly confirmed my suspicions about her anyway.

I'm just about to leave work on the cycle home when I hear a loud, sustained noise. I've no windows in my work area so I went out to the warehouse. There's a massive hail downpour, and just as I'm clearing up to leave. Why didn't I just go at 4.30 as I planned? Or 4pm, when I'm supposed to leave? 🙄

Average semi d probably has 3 separate toilets.

So do major Dublin public hospitals.

The new single decker Volvo buses on the 101 bus route are too small for purpose and should only be used on off peak times. The new double deckers are great though.

Also, the anti inflammatory medication for the metatarsal pain in my right foot isn't doing much good so I had to email the GP to ask him for a pain clinic/orthopedic referral. The pain has been going on since early January and it's grinding me down at this stage :(

In the meantime you could try using a supportive insole, Sarge. Really helped me when I was suffering with foot pain.

The format of my IT course doesn't really suit me, its memory based and I'm hyper visual based.

So for example, if part of a prog was three tasks ago, it assumes I would remember how to do that part of the task then(insert a million laughing emojis at that notion) even if there is a txt book for that part its written for the same audience and useless to me.

So I got a grinds teacher and asked them (after suppling the visual data) to write the question, the steps to get the answer and the correct answer for each type of task. So I can see all in one place, the question, the data and what the answer should be. This is my learning process in 3 steps, nothing else works as well as that would require me to remember things.

Just looking at it now, they have hidden the answers to the task in the cell and if I try to move it closer to the source it erases the cell content(leaving me with nothing is it doesn't paste properly)

So, answers I cant see as the same time as the question, no definite steps to follow to get the correct answer to the question. Ggggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ta that I, contrary to years of experience assumed that explaining and writing on the messages why the info needed to be set up this way, I expected it to be any different.

I got Scholl insoles although I think I'll need something a bit more specialized for the pain.

Yeah, if it’s persisting then definitely take it to a specialist. Worst thing you can do is ignore it anyway.
