Started looking at potential new cars at last, I hope my banger of car does not read boards.

But it might be saved yet saw one, particular car sturdy wanted a reasonably high one. Not too high, or too low.

After a couple of pints at the weekend in the small hours I was gawking at peoples cars in driveways on my way home trying to figure out a nice height of a car, that was the level of research I was doing - in the dark. Taking it really seriously. Figuring out the popular brands they must be popular for a reason etc.

So finally I decided to do more scientific work, got the specs of my car - crucially the width, gets in my driveway etc - bit narrow and the way the road is not a direct line up at first.

Looked up the width of this other brand that I drunkenly "researched" - knew it was a bit wider than my car. But now I think it could be a bit too wide.

My first thought was feck it, now I need a new house.....if I buy that car.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

How is it that now, in the 21st century, when a radio show has a contributor on the line there's still only a 50/50 chance that the line won't go tits up?

The amount of fcuking times I have to do updates on my work laptop that require restarts..... It used to be maybe 3-4 per year a few years ago to about 2-3 per fecking week nowadays!!!!

I'm home based, so it's always just left on in my office, and because I'm fairly disorganised, I'd usually have loads of tabs/mails/sh1te open here and there, and restarts mean I need to clean all that crap up... (i.e. do stuff).

Did one yesterday..... and already today theres another one.... and most times you only get 5 times to defer it, but not by long...

    Fecking annoying.....

My boss whatsapped me on my day off at 7.30 this morning, with a completely non-urgent work issue that definitely could have waited until later in the day.

And I was having a hoor of a sleep up to then.

The electricity has gone off 5 times in the last 5 minutes , make it 6 now . It's only for a minute but it takes longer to get the tv box back

People who clearly don't bother their holes checking the scheduling assistant when putting meeting requests in Outlook.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,914 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

It was a TA , but it's really bugging me now . Electricity goes off ever few minutes. I had to cancel a load of things I had to do around the house .

You have buses ? Lucky if one turns up here, then it's late, or goes the wrong damn way.

Have to be honest and say it annoys me people moaning about this. Disabled parking is fair enough, but I'm not at all interested in making parents' lives easier by making my own life harder. If they need the wider space for their minibus then ALDI should provide bigger spaces further from the door. Why do they need to be near the entrance? Is pushing a stroller a more difficult task than walking is for someone with chronic back pain (for example) but no disability sticker?

I'm taking the first available spot I see that isn't for disabled.

And now Aer Lingus have stopped flying to Gatwick from Dublin . So Ryanair can charge what they like as they have no competition .

    Media articles like this:

I mean, a card for reaching 6 months!

I fall more in love with you every day.

    Pays tribute to her son!

Sweet Jesus. What a world we live in. You'd think other people never had babies before.

Edit: funny how rubbish like this is NEVER behind the Indos paywall.

Gatwick is also in my view the best and most convenient London airport by miles, always like flying in there and the Aer Lingus prices were reasonable….used to be certainly… a shame that.

my TA…. A friend who I haven’t seen in 7 years is coming home in about 3 weeks, I found out yesterday…. The very week I’ve a hospital appointment, dental appointment and god knows what else… she’s like the energiser bunny on steroids who is always on the go , knows no limits in terms of up at sunrise and the last to bed… problem is that her marriage just ended, she’s always shall we say liked a drink, the craic and the crazier aspects of socialising…. On the back of a turbulent marriage breakup ( psychologically abusive husband ) so emotions etc… Im unsure if I’ve the energy for that week quite frankly… I’ve zero choice….👀💀🤐

Could you replace the aglet with a bit of sellotape?

Glue.sellotape falls off if it gets wet. Have tried it. Or better still glue on a cut piece of plastic straw. And yeah I'm serious.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,914 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

Never get it tight enough. But I suppose I could just get new laces .

TA, The amount of office collections on a regular basis for the likes of birthdays, new babies, leavings, promotions etc etc. Three on the go at the moment, all for people who earn at least 10k more than me a year. I ignore them all.

Arm rests on the outside seats of trains and buses. I prefer to call them Coat Catchers because people are always getting their coats and bags hooked by the stupid things.

Had a tradesman in the house for some work upstairs, so had to keep the dog and the cat with me downstairs.

Dog got so excited at having someone new in the house making noise that she vomited on the living room floor. Cat sits there staring in stern judgement of her.

When the guy goes, I feed the cat. Because the cat hasn't eaten in 15 minutes, she overfeeds and vomits on the kitchen floor.

Dog proceeds to eat the cat vomit.

Why does my back have to sh1t the bed on days when I need to lift heavy crates and speakers for gigs? TA'd is putting it lightly.
