Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That’s a nonsense sub. Greenwood has been playing well.

    Take Rashford off.

    It's the easy sub.

Greenwood obviously wasn't running directly into enough players.

Greenwood has to feel hard done by there.

This first half of ET is a microcosm of our ****e normal time first half, do we always need a HT whistle/bollockin' to play well?

Rashford is dropping deep, playing like Sanchez did for United. Should be pushing up taking on Foyth. Don't understand these tactics.

I agree as foyth is off the pitch which is where Rashford should be

If this was to go to penalties I’d want Greenwood taking one...

Cavani starting to look tired now

Has put a serious shift in to be fair.....he's put some of the younger guys to shame in that respect

To be honest it's not a strange sub from Ole at all. Fred and McTominay in the middle, Pogba left and Rashford right is a go to formation for him.

The problem is he seems to have decided on it regardless of what's happening on the pitch as there's no way Mason should be off ahead of Rashford.

Rashford on the right now, Jesus christ

I know James isn't the best option but with 10 minutes to go in extra time would tear this defence apart right now I feel

Seriously, Rashford hasn’t been at it all night. No matter what he’s done he’s been let down by his touch, or a pass, or something else. It’s just not his night and that’s plain to see.

Why in the name of god has he been left on the pitch? It’s baffling.

I am beyond anger now with Ole....how can he not see Villareal are on top?....they have fresher legs we are tiring...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,129 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

How does the bench not get used? They are leaving much more space than in the first 60 mins. James, Amad, VDB . There is a bench there ffs.

Because Ole wants to win ;)

At this point those players don't have long enough to get settled in the game.

If we lose this from here it's been lost by Solksjaer's inability to manage his squad.

Need subs on, fresh legs or could lose this in the second half. No point in keeping fresh subs for nothing.

    Peons 50/50 chance.

Even 1/2 players can make a difference, send Amad on for Rashford. Even Mata.

People keep mentioning who is on the bench without saying who they would sub off (apart from Rashford)

We need fresh legs on the pitch and our only sub is an injured Fred !!

Get Dan James on , we need some energy

Team look out on their legs. Ole like a rabbit in the headlights. Villarreal with half a fresh team out there.

    Cowardly to take Mason off.

Inexplicable he hasn’t made more subs on fatigue alone, never mind some poor performances.

This has us losing on penos written all over it.

Did you see his one on one against Wolves on the weekend? If there is a chance left for Utd in this you don't want it falling to James.

Has Ole been playing for penalties since the 60th minute then? Because that's when Rashford should have been hauled off after giving him the customary 15 minutes to try pick things up after half time.

An unusual game in that neither Keeper has had to make a decent save...even though it’s a lively match.

Ole has already shown in previous games this season that he will stick with Rashford ahead of Greenwood even if Mason is in better form.

Maguire aside, Ole started his strongest XI tonight, the lack of quality on the bench says it all about this so-called big club squad.

    Scrap the cap!

Wouldn’t say he’s been playing for it but he’s clearly been very much prepared for it to happen which would explain why he stayed on.
