I was watching Neville's soccerbox with Rooney there the other night and they were showing the 8-2 against Arsenal and DeGea (first season I think) saved a Van Persie penalty.

They were claiming that he came of age with that, don't think he's saved a penalty since! :P

Nonsense, he blocked the cross with his leg and it went up and hit his arm. He can't go in for a slide without his arms up for balance. Terrible call from the ref.

Pogbas been excellent for us recently but some people just love to have a pop at him.

Was it a Lukaku penalty against Everton in maybe 2015 he last saved? tho I think he saved one at the start of the season against Palace that had to be retaken and they scored from. Either way, he has an incredibly poor penalty record.

That’s the only penalty I can remember him saving! I’m sure there’s others, but I can’t think of one. Penalties are not his strong suit.

Think (I’d have to double check) that David has only saved 2 more penalties than Dean despite playing in 300+ more games.

Oh yeh, that was when the GK coming off line rule was brought in. Think DDG and some other keeper were only two to be penalised and they binned it if I remember correctly. That was a ridiculous

Common sense is gone out of the game , blocks the ball with his leg and ball deflects off his arm,as unintentional as someone kicking the ball at your arm from close range which are not deemed penalties.
