Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Scholes putting the boot into Fred but no comments on Rashford, typical national bias.

    Hope Greenwood comes on

He dove way too late. He didn’t appear to change his mind last minutes. It was just a pathetic attempt at this level

The Man United fan base seems to have a huge over representation of manic depressives. Roma have played poorly but are bizarrely leading. There is 135 minutes of football to be played. United have come back multiple times to win ties in just 45 minutes. Irritating but no need to throw in the towel yet.

Maybe we will catch a break and they will get a few more injuries at half time. :pac:

Oddly enough, I would still kind of fancy United even if they went to Roma a goal down. Roma don’t look that good, if United can push on a bit more they can take this game.

Had we been in this situation a couple of months ago I'd fancy us.

I think the players are wrecked and that Solksjaers fault for not rotating.

You end up with burnt out first choice players and back up players who haven't had enough minutes to build up any form.

    Glazers Out!

I'd personally look at bringing on Mata and or Greenwood.

Greenwood for his pace, and eye for goal,Mata will just make smart runs, be composed and make more time for Bruno, Pogba Cavani.

McTominay has not been great aside from taking out 2 of their players and Rashford,1 cross aside isnt at it.

We would have a chance if we made those changes. They won't happen though.

Nullzero said the exact same thing in the Granada game, that we were being outfoxed and they would go through etc etc etc. Only shows up when things are going bad.

We are making a meal of this to be fair. We seem a bit desperate. Just need to calm down. These aren't great and I'd still fancy us to go through. Big second half though.

Fred and McTominay have been really poor. If Wan Bissaka is going to play that far forward then one has to martial that channel.
    Agree with everything there.

AWB, McT and Fred all at fault for the first goal and both McT and Fred did a terrible job at covering for AWB for the second. Lindelof had to go out and deal with it and the two lads couldn't have done worse if they tried.

Need to see more from Shaw this half, was very quiet first 45.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

We’ve got to come out this half all out attack. Enough with McFred , they’ve been dreadful as per usual

Put Pogba into the midfield , put Rashford on the left and bring on Greenwood or Donny for McTominay imo

For all this talk from Savage and Scholes of Pogba dictating games I wish I'd seen it myself in his time at United.

    Did well there though!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,978 ✭✭✭BenK

Frustrating game so far but it's a bit early to be overly negative. Plenty of time left in the game and tie to turn it around. Definitely think both Fred and McTominay in the middle is a problem though that unbalances the team too much while not offering enough in an attacking sense. Greenwood needs to come on sooner rather than later.

I don’t know about that, did ok away to spurs 2 weeks ago. Our goal didn’t looks like players who were burnt out. Just Feels like this is just one of those games that can happen anytime in a season.

We should be doing everything we can to keep Cavani for another year.

He’s too good, got us huge goals this season.

Cavani should have a hat trick at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭fatherted1969

Roma are brutal and we're worse. Fred needs to be off, Pogba moved centrally, Rashford on the left and Mason attacking on the right. Absolutely no need for 2 holding midfielders here, Roma don't deserve this respect

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Another poor miss from cavani, not like him.

Could of had a hatrick, I mean , the team has been far better then Roma , if this was 4-2 nobody would be complaining.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

thats so ridiculous that uefa gave a final to a country where they dont let some players enter the country

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭fatherted1969

The passing from both sides here is diabolical

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,114 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

That cross from Bruno. He's looked back to his best tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

Think Pogba is showing tonight the difference between being able to pass the ball forward and being a specialist at it.

We really need to find a way of getting him into a 3 with Bruno and A.N. other

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,375 ✭✭✭Indestructable

Fernandes is just sublime at times, lovely cross.

Another poor miss from cavani, not like him.

I'd say he thought Bruno was going to have a crack
