    Strong team.

Hopefully the tie is put to bed by HT and players can be rested for the three games coming up.

grinds my gears every time! just order it by position goddam.

good to see donny start. bruno, cavani and harry could do with a rest considering the next 7 days though

Happy enough with that team. Curious to see if it's the typical 4-2-3-1 or more of a diamond shape.

Strong team, nice to see a rest for Marcus, Scotty and Lindelof. Hopefully get this wrapped up by 60 mins and then rest a few more.

Interesting line up, will we see DVB next to Fred or will Pogba drop deeper

Should have left Pogba and his yellow card in Manchester. Needlessly risky

If he picks up another yellow, does that mean he's suspended for the final

Aren't they reset after the quarter finals?

I'd have possibly been cracking in other circumstances but I am actually finding it hard not to be happy he is starting with some quality players around him to see how he gets on with more of the A team basically.

Yeah, but wouldn't he miss it if he picked up two yellow cards in both legs of the semi final?

No. Its three yellows for a suspension. That's why the amnesty happens after the quarter finals. Only a red can rule a player out.

    Ah right. Good to know.

Considering how much we're up and the fixture list, crazy to play likes of Bruno, Maguire and the other constant starters here.

Maybe we better off playing him tonight and resting Bruno against Villa to try and have him play against Leicester and Liverpool games with a good week rest before those two.

Possibly but as we just need points and Villa are the easiest game there, I'd nearly say it's best we go all out for that to get the 3 points so if we slip up against Leicester or Liverpool we dont screw up too badly. We could easily play a weakened team against Villa and strong teams against Leicester and Liverpool and come away with hardly anything.

I know what you are saying and don’t necessarily disagree with your sentiments. But we do have Fulham/wolves aswell. If we beat lecester we can actually lose to Vila and pool and still be in 2nd spot.

I suppose Ole is just making sure there is no mistakes , ideally this tie is over by HT and he can make a few changes but even if this looks a banker it’s important to not underestimate Roma. I know it was 3 years ago but they did pull back a 4-1 to Barca.

    Great save from DDG.

    Unusually slack from Shaw there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Greenwood was slow for that Bruno cross a few mins ago. You can tell that Cavani would of been all over it. Not sure the youngster is at the races yet. Not the only one to be fair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,386 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Pure class from Cavani to get away without a yellow there. You can't teach that :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Ha, Pedro is at Roma, didn’t know that. Did he play in first leg?

Very lucky. I'd take him off now. One of the positions we've no real cover for.

Wan letting his presence be known... Like Philly Neville on Reyes....

    What an absolute waste Bailly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

I’d love to see what Bailly could do with one injury free season. He shows glimpses of class and glimpses of chaos , I think there’s a really good defender if we can keep him fit.

I know Luke Shaw isn't the thinnest in the world but is it just me or is he putting on a few pounds lately?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

Brilliant movement from Cavani. He should be scoring though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,351 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

bailly..overran the ball while under no pressure :pac:

straight at the keeper rather than a good save from cavini there

he's looked a bit sluggish tonight. that throw in challenge where he didnt try to win the ball rather than try to stop the roma player. it was easier

To go with the 15 injuries Roma got in the first leg

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,386 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Maguire and Bailly are all over the shop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

This could easily be 2-0 to Roma right now, this is why we needed to play mostly a strong team. What’s worrying is that the team is still very sloppy despite the scares

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,947 ✭✭✭KH25

We look like we want to just get through the game. Very little impetus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,041 ✭✭✭Pipmae

De Gea having a great game so far. He's certainly been tested.

I don't know, I feel players with energy are needed and most of these as completely gassed. If there wasn't this feeling that the Europa was important I'd put Bruno and Rashford on a holiday tbh.

Only by the divine grace of God Roma haven’t scored.
