Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These type of situations show Ole up. This should never happen to United, other big clubs don't make a meal out of situations like this.

Barcelona literally lost here 3-0 , 3 years ago after being 4-1 up. One game doesn’t undo the entire season. All teams can have these moments , particularly in cups.

Whatever the idea behind signing VDB chalk it up to a mistake and move him on. He just doesnt fit into the team/squad at all.

Should probably wait until end of the game to go at him.

Thought the Matic move was a good one and we’re now back on track.

Super from Cavani. I just LOVE him. I can only hope that Rashford is watching and learning from his movement and how he stays onside.

Delaney said before the match last week that we were boring to watch. 12 goal aggregate scoreline over the tie.

Matic has made the midfield way more stable.

The midfield was utterly shapeless/non existant during that spell.

not really, the team completely capitulated there for 10 mins.

thats on the manager IMO not instilling belief but the fear of losing

I don't wanna give up on him completely after just a season but I dunno how he and Grealish were supposedly on the same list. Couldn't be any less alike if they tried. I think we should be going all out for Grealish still, he'd suit this team down to the ground. I'd have him over Sancho for sure.

PP offers something. DVdB offers a -1 team handicap.

For all his faults you at least know in theory what he will bring.

VDB isnt a 10 and isnt great playing deeper. His passing isnt great and he struggles to retain possession or beat players

Not instilling belief but rather fear of losing?

I can hear Ole at half time.
“Right lads we only have a 5 goal cushion. We’re ****ed. Just go out there and have fun. Maybe have a spell of complete sloppiness. That’s my orders get it done”

It’s funny. Team could play 90 mins of pure class and people will say it’s the players on the pitch not the coaches on the sideline. Then they have 10 minutes of falling apart and it’s hardly their fault the coach has instilled that belief.

We’re up 8-4 with 15 mins left until a final. Think we can rest on the Ole isn’t good enough argument for the time being.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭py2006

Tis a tad worrying that we've conceded 4 in two games. Unusual for us this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭piplip87

Fantastic by Cavani. Donny not having good game one the wing. You would think a Dutch winger would bring more........ Shades of Lampard and Werner here.... Sure stick him on the wing.....

One is going to have to learn how to manage the squad better. Look at City for example Sterling, Maharz, Silva, Forden, Torres all viable wing options.... Gundengon, KDB, Fernandinio, Rodriguez all options for the middle. Stones, Laporte, Ake all viable options in defence.

Ole hasn't a clue how to manage the squad. No point spending money on Donny to have him sitting on the bench while Bruno burns himself out.....

Alex Telles’ positional sense is worse than AWB and that’s saying something!

Donnie started a champions league semi final at 22 and was purchased relatively cheap. I wouldn't right him off as of yet. Look at the difference regular football has made to lingard

Matic has been good since he came on. Looks composed and picking out some good passes.

One more goal for us and Roma need 6. Surely we'd be comfortably through and can take off a few more if so.

were they organised with the introduction of 2 fullbacks?

if no, thats on the manager for not training them properly.

regardless of aggregate score line, treat every game on its merits.

anyway, final beckons. right now, its Villarreal

He hasnt played well enough to be the viable option he was bought to be imo

And why is Bruno still on the pitch.

Wouldn't write VDB off just yet, he's shown glimpses of his quality IMO this season and it's been incredibly stop start for him.

Certain players take a while to get settled and I think a more technical player like him will take time to find his feet.

He was a stand out for Ajax in their CL run and made the Ballon d'Or shortlist the same season. The quality is there, just need to get it out of him.

Actually looking forward to seeing how he gets on next season, there's a player there imo.

Hopefully he can but hes very much the odd one out in the current midfield systems we use. Even moreso if we sign Rice/another #10 to shove him further down.

Next to Bruno, Him and Zlatan have prob been our best signings in the last 8 years. There’s nothing like quality experience to show you what you miss with youth.
