Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

lovely hit rashford! from that position better off dribbling into a crowd

Matic has been very good last 25 minutes

    And we sure needed him

  • Registered Users Posts: 640 ✭✭✭ngunners

    telles' positioning is awful

A mistake like that was coming from him. At least three times he jumped up at the back post with no chance of getting the ball. I like Telles but he has been brutal tonight.

Davide Santon looks totally gassed on their left and hes only on the pitch about 20 mins :pac:

    Never a yellow

    Get lost ref!!

I'm not even sure how that tackle by Williams was a free kick, never mind a yellow?

Looks like Villarreal in the final.

    shambolic 2nd half performance.

happy to be through to the 2nd tier of Europe's finals.

donny aint at the races at all.

The full back subs were so bad or the coaching so bad...either way thats on the manager.

axel surely is off this summer seeing the lack of trust put in him

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Not pretty and I think tame celebrations showed the team know that too!

But job done. Said before I’d be content with a 2nd place finish and a trophy from Europa or FA Cup.

    Job still on track.

And Arsenal not in the final.

    Suits us fine!

    Much rather Villarreal than Arsenal.

As bad as Arsenal are, they always raise their game for United.

Won't be an easy task but we should be favourites.

Buzzing for it, this team needs a trophy.

But all the goals the manager got us outweighs that!

AFAIK they dont have an ex-United striker currently.

They owe us for giving them Forlan and Rossi :P

Always hate playing Spanish teams though, but at least the venue is neutral. They'd want to be switched on from the start for the final.

Haven't seen Villareal play. How do you reckon we would fair against them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Whatever about the performance, certainly not a boring 2 legs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,461 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Don't know a lot about Villareal.

But our record vs Arsenal has been awful for way too long.
We don't need that kind of baggage going into a Final

    Cavani is a godsend.

    Poor performance overall.

At least we don't have to play this seasons bogey side Arsenal in the final.

    Glazers Out!

Fantastic by Cavani. Donny not having good game one the wing. You would think a Dutch winger would bring more........ Shades of Lampard and Werner here.... Sure stick him on the wing.....

One is going to have to learn how to manage the squad better. Look at City for example Sterling, Maharz, Silva, Forden, Torres all viable wing options.... Gundengon, KDB, Fernandinio, Rodriguez all options for the middle. Stones, Laporte, Ake all viable options in defence.

Ole hasn't a clue how to manage the squad. No point spending money on Donny to have him sitting on the bench while Bruno burns himself out.....

Wtf are you on about. City have two world class players for every position. You’re comparing chalk and cheese. It’s not about managing the squad better, it’s about getting in the players who are good enough.

said this in the CL thread. city have an extra ~190m in their squad vs utd.

at the time i used that as a stick to beat city with...if utd had an extra 190m they would be there.

i suppose its down to, utd have pissed away money for the last 10 years

Certainly the most entertaining semi final I've seen in a long time.

Cavani & De Gea saved us big time tonight, we looked very close to capitulating at one stage of the second half. Both equally MOTM for me

De Gea HAS to play the final & no way we should be selling a keeper of that quality this summer. I don't have any issues with Henderson but De Gea is different class imo.

ole screwed romeo out of a semi final, so i have no doubt he will do the same to DDG

no way 3 utd ex players should be pundits on BT. they are all biased

I don’t think he will. Romero was a very different situation as he was a bit player all season. I expect DDG to start the final. Would be happy to see him start the remaining games too.

Yes I'd expect DDG to start in the final as well. I think Henderson will retain his place in the league though - I do think he's earned that.

I guess the away record had go at some point.

Not disappointed that we lost but the way we were opened up would be a concern.

Still a final to look forward to and hopefully a good end to the season.

We've already lost away to Istanbul, Leipzig, and Leicester. The away record is only in the league.

I think the 4 goal lead led to a lot of the sloppiness tonight. I'd expect them to be far more focused in the final. Also put Lindelof back beside Maguire (with Shaw and AWB playing 90) and the defense is for more solid.

Only catching up on the match now but if there are 2 rumoured players looking for an exit this summer that I really hope stay it's Cavani and DeGea.

    I hate that crap.

A win over two legs (especially when you were four feckin' goals up after the first leg, and therefore not too fussed about the second) is NOT a defeat.

    Scrap the cap!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,584 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

Delaney said before the match last week that we were boring to watch. 12 goal aggregate scoreline over the tie.

Between Quinn, Delaney and that drip of a studio presenter, Virgin Media really do their best to drain all the pleasure out of watching Man Utd games. It's not like the first two's bias is subtle, either.

Seems the final is only on VM Sport... does BBC or ITV have it...? Hope they do because if we win, VM will still be critiquing the style of our win

    Scrap the cap!

Why wasn't Roma' third ruled out by VAR? Looked clearly offside.
