Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads how was that a penalty? This isn't the first time Tipp have got the rub of the green with ref decisions. Anyone remember Tipp v Waterford few years ago?

Is there no option for just a sin bin without a penalty?

Looked to be a chance of a goal.

In the same way that having the ball on the half way line is. It's a ridiculous angle to score from unless he runs in the 30 odd yards but surely several other players on the field will reach him before he gets close to the goal.
    A shocking decision!

I can see why it was given in real time tbh. He is getting to the edge of the square from there.

I think it was the linesman that gave it, he would have a clear view of foul and space beyond.

I think there was a chance of a goal, but it wasn't a clear goal scoring chance.

From the sideline with at least 1 if not more people coming in to picture are you mad

In that case Barrett's foul on Kelly was a penalty as well

A lot of people had Galway as one of the All Ireland favourites. After that, you'd wonder.

Surely that has to be a penalty for Brendan Maher's foul in the middle of the field ?

Penalty against Clare has to be the worst call I've ever seen. If that was a sinbin/penalty then what was the incident w/C. Barrett's yellow. what an absolute joke.

I think it was the linesman that gave it, he would have a clear view of foul and space beyond.

For the new rule it has to be inside the 21 or the "D" and was probably asking linesman about the 21 yard line.

Clare struggling being a man down here, need to get back to 15 without getting too far behind.

There wasn't even a sin bin he got a yellow

Edit: forget my stupidy there was

Any chance RTE might invest in a clock for the sin bin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Clare goalkeeper makes a howler. Tipperary player lucky as well, he was clearly attempting a point.

Game over. I'm still in shock as that penalty decision.

Exactly. disgusting call. Barrett's a dirty whiny player to boot.

Game over now, ref has given the game to Tipp, they have made the most of the extra man

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,984 ✭✭✭ebbsy

Penalty or not, it was a terrible tackle ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Clare have had some misfortune, and it's gotten to them.

Absolutely, yellow card all day, no question on that front, it was not a goal scoring chance though.

    Clare need the water break

What a disaster for us. Had managed the sin bin very well too

Ah for christ sake, how is the game over. Plenty of time to turn it around if they are good enough.

Lohan needs then in for it big time. They are rattled

Tipp will be hockeyed by Limerick in the final.

Down a man and gifted a goal against us, game over I'm afraid, some bad wides and being dominated in midfield/half-forwards.

Owens strikes again, not just a terrible decision but singlehandedly destroyed a good match with it.

Stupid wide. That's 2-1 he could be blamed for but he saved well twice

    Clare have given up...

It's not over, but it does suck the life out of a team. Compounded by a fluked goal shortly after.

That James Owens is some stones... if Taylor’s was a yellow... Maher should have got red there

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,008 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Strike across the head, yellow card, you've to love helmets

Owens will give Clare something soft to even it up surely. Will probably be discussed among the officials at water break

    Still a goal chance

Nope, he's perfect so doesn't think he did anything wrong.

    Still a goal chance

In that case Barrett pulling Kelly down was a penalty, or Cleary in the first half was a penalty

Have to say that some of the ground hurling has been brilliant today

Clare players heads are all over the place and something needs to be done to get them in the game. I hope that the GAA look at the ref this half and ask some damming questions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,066 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

    Poor wide by Galvin

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,008 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

    Terrible wide by Galvin.

Clare are a busted flush I'm afraid

    Still a goal chance

Please define what you mean as a goal chance because any free then can be a goal chance

Tipp doing our level best to leave Clare in this.

Penalty decision was woeful, no two ways about it.

Here is hoping the magic of the water break works for Clare

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Momentum completely changed the game but we have also wasted so much ball.

Hopefully rally a bit at least in this last quarter

    Great save

Clare keeper has been fantastic even allowing for a mistake for the goal.
