Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Amazon Prime Video - VOD in Ireland?

    Just a quick question whether you can watch Video on Demand on Amazon Prime Video here. Have searched the app and could see no access to it. Its for watching things like Godzilla v Kong, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat.

    OP I’m a bit confused as to what you are asking here. Prime Video is available in Ireland. Those titles you mention however are new releases and you won’t see them on Prime Video probably for years to come.

    There are a number of other services that do offer certain new releases, for example Apple TV (iTunes) and Sky Store. Godzilla v Kong is on both of those, Mortal Kombat (2021) is not (you can watch Mortal Kombat (1995) and it’s sequel if you prefer).

    Google Play, Rakuten Tv and Microsoft also have that Godzilla film. Amazon don't rent or sell films in Ireland via Prime Video as far as I know.

    OP may be asking because UK Amazon Prime Video do have new releases available for purchase or rental e.g.

    As above though not available on the Irish service.

    As an aside I don't like their approach to the UK content, it can be hard to distinguish "free" (or more accurately already paid for) content included in your Prime membership from that which requires an additional rental fee when viewing the UK homepage.
