Myself and two other girls (all 25) are considering renting an apartment in Watling Street. We would be coming home at different hours alone. I would be really grateful of feedback on the area in terms of safety.

Watling Street? Ah, yes, Watling Street.
I once knew a girl who lived on Watling Street.
Long time ago, when I was a young man.
Not a day passes I don't think her and the promise that I made, which I will always keep.
That one perfect day on Watling Street.

For less poetry and more information I'd try posting in the accomodation or Dublin city forums

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Tim Finnegan lived in Watling Street,
A gentle Irishman - mighty odd
He'd a beautiful brogue both rich and sweet,
And to rise in the world he carried a hod,
But Tim he'd sort of a tipplin way:
With love for the liquor he was born,
And to help him on with his work each day,
He'd a drop of the craythur every morn'

    Whack fol-de-dah
Will ye dance to your partner,
    Welt the floor,
    Your trotters shake
Wasn't it the truth, I told ye
lots of fun at Finnegan's wake

For those who didn't understand Your Face's reference above.

Serious answer OP, while I didn't live on Watling Street myself, my friend did and it's not really an area I'd be comfortable walking around at night on my own, and I'm a bloke. Your mileage may vary of course and all that.

It’s generally fine but can be quite deserted and isolated at night and is surrounded by a few area’s known for anti social behaviour. Maybe you could visit the place at different times and get a vibe for the place?
