My copper beech hasn’t sprouted green leaves yet. And my cherry blossom didn’t flower this year.
What are the chances they’re dead?
My neighbours copper beech is fully green.

my beech has barely just started to break bud; this would be early, generally, for beech to come into leaf i reckon.

have the buds started to elongate yet?

Far too early here for our beech hedge. It's just now thinking about it and dropping the old leaves from last year.

Just checked, and they have thankfully.
I shouldn’t compare with next door.

I wish I’d planted something evergreen!

You'd cut all the new buds off the Beech!

Laurel in late spring or early summer. Beech not until late summer.

Been toying with the idea of clipping mine, bare root planted in early march. might leave it at this stage tho..

    I should’ve been more patient.
A lot of green has appeared this week.

My cherry blossom never flowered though.
