The solution lies with having all of the violent and deadly kill the unbelievers passages removed from the Quran.

That's just as bad as the idea that if we remove all racial references from Mark Twains works we'll solve the problem of world racism.

You can't overwrite or whitewash history, JM - and that's even before we get to the issue of exactly HOW you're going to convince someone with the ability to alter and deface sacred historical sriptures in the first place, regardless of the content.

The ultimate question then is: how do you predict which immigrants will go on to become rdicialised or have radicalised children, and which don't? Is it even possible? And the uncomroftable ethical dilemma: is it morally acceptable to convict someone because they might commit a crime based on a hunch and no evidence? Or who will raise someone to commit a crime?
Is it ok to block certain immigration because the stats from other countries show them to be a risk?
    Yes, I think so.

Christian Nigerians have not been shown to be a terror problem so I have no issue with immigration from there (other than that Nigeria is not at war).

    Yazidi, yes. Salafists, no.

Australia tried to do this to the Irish with regard to drinkiness, wasn't very popular.

Ultimately, you're still buying a ticket for a lottery.

And if their children get radicalised online and murder someone as has happened already?

This would act as a filtering process. First of all it would greatly reduce the number of immigrants so the population of potential terrorists would be reduced. Secondly the skilled workers would have education and in turn it would be reasonable to expect their children to be law abiding citizens as opposed to the children of illegal migrants whose lives in Europe have been built on their parents slipping in undocumented.

Agreed. There are exceptions to every rule. That doesn't mean educated people are EQUALLY likely to commit crimes than people who live in poverty. Or that women are equally likely to be sexual abusers than men. There are trends in life, that don't explain every single thing, but describe a pattern.

It also doesn't mean that the children of illegal or poor immigrants would be radicalised and murder people, yet here you are calling for them to be stopped or banned from entry simply based on thier religion.

Educated people committing crime is not an exception?
Do you really think only poor people are criminals!

I agree with your statement that:
It also doesn't mean that the children of illegal or poor immigrants would be radicalised and murder people

Where I would make a distinction would be:
It also doesn't mean that the children of MUSLIM illegal or poor immigrants would be radicalised and murder people

There are no absolutes here, but let's be honest about this. There are certain patterns.

Isn't it odd how this particular lottery only started around 20 years ago?

No - but I think the population of Mountjoy would be less well educated than the average person. I'm not saying poverty causes crime, just that crime is correlated with poverty.

Just after 9-11 when the western countries started bombing the shìt out of Muslim countries and the Internet took off to the point it was easier for people to radicalise the gullible ones.

Petty crime yes, but Is that the same with murder? How many murders committed in the last ten years in Ireland are attributed to people in poverty? My guess would be the minority.

My point is that there are certain trends/patterns that are obvious to anyone with half a brain. E.g. men and women are equal, but it's still fair to say men commit more violent crime, in the past, present and future. Doesn't mean ALL men this, or ALL women that.

Similarly NBA basketball tends to be dominated by people of a certain ethnicity. And terrorists in Europe tend to be motivated by radical Islam.

So we are importing combatants for a low level war where they will pop up and kill an innocent person.

In France, yes that seems to be what is happening. Hundreds of innocents killed by Jihadis.
What should we do Timber? How do you suggest we put a stop to the killings?

Another trend is, many posters in this thread are clearly racist.

Stop bombing the shìt out of their countries and creating regime changes to suit western governments would be a start. Make it safer and give them incentives to go back to their home countries.

Yeah, if they are not racist, they are phobic...every last one of them. Sure, the old fall back argument.

Arrive? I've been here quite a while. If posters are allowed to point out trends then surely I am allowed do the same?

I'm.not talking about one poster I'm talking about several that take the same stance on any thread relating to Islam/immigration

People like you are the only ones who conflate religion with race. The rest of us have no problem discerning the obvious difference between a set of ideas and someones skin color.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

But yet you do have a problem discerning the difference between radical Islamic terrorists and other muslims.

Are you saying Sweden has/had no troops in the ME?

Am I racist? I'd love to know why? Is it because I would prefer Nigerian, Indian, Polish or Chinese immigrants over ones of Pakistani muslim origin? Is that racist?

I guess the only person who can answer that is you.

    Yes
If you treat people.differently because of their nationality, that is clearly racist.
Do you really not know that?
