Probably my oldest cat at over 17. I have moved around too much to have carried baggage... Oh but my handsewn patchwork quilt. I made it way back.

have a board game '' escape from colditz'' , bought in '75 and apart from slight damage to the box its still in great condition

Ahhhh janey! There was a lad used to bring that in to primary school on the last day of the year, when we were allowed play games the whole day. I used to love it, but never saw it anywhere else - not even in a shop.

I completely forgot about this one...
I have three engines and some carriages and goods wagons and loads of 3-rail track for a Hornby Dublo trainset. Santa delivered for Christmas 1960 or so. He made a balls of setting it up, and my father was no better at making it work. For a while, it ended up with trains being pushed round the tracks to make them go. Then it was all shoved in a big box to rot away. Years ago I found the box in my mother's attic, retrieved it, with a view to getting it working. Mam explained that she had seen it in a toy shop, it was second hand and already years old, so a bargain. It ended up in my own attic for probably 15 years.

It's now out, and I'm trying to get it running. Anyone that has seen it is amazed at the weight of the engines. I think they're cast iron.
I'm currently building a couple of solenoids to remagnetize the motors.

Edit to say: it's in bits, so I'm doing it simply as an engineering challenge. If only I was an engineer. :-0

I've got some old vinyl that I inherited from siblings so they might be older.

Oooh, I have loads of stuff from my childhood years ... Probably the thing most in use is my 48-bass accordion. Can't remember what age I was when I first went to classes, but I was good enough in 1980 for my parents to buy me a bigger, 120-bass model (for which I know the date, because we were in Australia at the time and my parents obviously considered it and me a good enough investment to ship back to Dublin! :pac: ) Anyway, I still have both, but the smaller one is sitting over there on the armchair waiting for me to play a few tunes this evening.

I forgot about my accordion, I've a 120 bass for 32 years now. Don't play it as often as I should.
Also have an RC car and boat around the same age too, may a few years younger.
Couple of matchbox cars too which my kids play with, also lego

I had that game too, got at a car boot sale or similar. Long gone now :(
Have a Scrabble set my parents had, so that's probably 48 years old or so I guess.

I have that in the attic in my mother's house, must dig it out as I think the kids would actually enjoy it. There's a copy of the Dublin edition of Monopoly from the 60's there too. The same attic would have my childhood teddys and Action Man toys from the early 80's too. Some of the Action Man stuff would be worth a fortune now if it wasn't in such "well loved" condition :pac:

The oldest thing of mine that I have in my own house would probably be my Lego that Santa brought when I was 4. Family heirloom wise, the Tambour clock my grandfather was presented with by the Kilkennymen's Association "on the occasion of his marriage" is still keeping time on the mantlepiece.

I have some vintage hand tools that I'm quite proud of too but nothing valuable.

Same, I bought it on Roches Stores in Merchants Quay in Cork on sale. It's still going strong, and it gets used at least 3 times a week.

I've a Mamod Steam Roller SR1a which I got sometime in the late 70s/ maybe very early 80s- I take it out and run it once a year!

Also still have a Sony "ghettoblaster" (or is it "boombox") that I bought for £100 in Peats of Parnell Street, around 1983. I vividly remember buying it, £100 was a fortune then, took a long time to save for it and I remember that lovely new "electronic" smell!

I have an old Portasol portable gas powered soldering iron kit that I got in the mid 80s, still works and I still use it from time to time.

I still have a a Rotring Trio draughtsman's pencil that I got in 1992 and plenty of old draughting stencils and equipment from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Lot's of old vintage tools too, I may have some of them 20 years or more but some are over 100 years old, love old stuff, can't beat the quality!

Reminds me that the Radio Cassette player (double with high speed dubbing and detachable speakers) that is still by my bed was bought in Dixon's in London in 1988.

I'd say a Swiss Army Knife my Mum bought for me when I was 12, how times have changed!

First they came for the socialists...

I have a pickaxe that my father bought in 1943. Has been used regularly every year since. It has had the head replaced 4 or 5 times and the handle replaced 9 times but is still as good as new!

(Shamelessly stolen from Only Fools and Horses)

I saw them for sale in Hodges and Figgis on Dawson Street in Dec 2019 (last time I was in Dublin City). I believe the swasticas are replaced with eagles. I might buy one next time I'm there in 2029.

I have a mountain bike from 1994 that I keep fixing.
    I have a teddy from 1984 ish.

Another old item with strong sentimental attachment has come to mind- I have an old garden rake, "Sparko" brand which my grandmother gave me when I was a young boy, she was a great gardener and I used to help her out in her garden. It was in poor shape after 30+ years of use, so I straightened the teeth, gave it a fresh coat of paint to match the original colour (fire engine red!) and some boiled linseed oil for the handle. I use it in my own garden now and it brings back fond memories of hard work and fine summers spent in her beautiful garden.

We have a food blender from 1974 still in weekly use, a coffee table from around 1980 also. Its an ancient looking thing but trying to cut back on this consumerism thing by not buying a new one.

Wife's dad has a cardigan from 1969, still looking well & a Sanyo microwave oven from 1981.

My kitchen table and chairs are from my childhood house. Bought in 1977,I'd say.
