In the 90s the lads mags were the whole rage prominantly displayed in shops for all to see, not just the people looking it up.

Take for example Game of Thrones great show I loved it, but in the early seasons virtually every lead female did a nude scene, and there was a lot of gratutious sex and nudity. I don't think that would happen nowadays, only 10 years later.

I'm not a prude, if you want to access porn go for it. Anything involving consenting adults is fine by me but I'm happy enough there is less on mainstream media.

The issue is that its being pushed and adapted by young women everywhere due to these social media platforms. That's why lads mags etc.. aren't as much a thing anymore - why would there be a market for such things when you can go on tik-tok and see the girl next door twerking?

Tinder is another one, the constant swiping through potential partners as if they're products on Amazon. The lack of any real courtship. It's all very troubling and sad.

I completely blame the internet and smart phones.

You can't blame men for liking sexualised women they are men ffs. You can't blame young women for wanting or reacting to attention. They are young women, its nice to be told you are gorgeous. All normal, natural.

What is not normal is the constant need for validation and constant subjection to sexualised images that social media provides.

Its happening younger and younger. There is huge focus on appearance due to taking photos all the time.

We are going a very dark road. And I honestly feel sorry for anyone born after about 2000 who have grown up totally surrounded by it.

The technology is stick, but the arm swinging it is a deeper societal rot. You don't see this as much in other countries who have the same technology, but different levels of exposure to US culture.

I do agree. I am being simplistic saying its only the internet. There are other social factors that drive it. The increase in porn over the last twenty thirty years has to be a factor.

It's amazing to think how attitudes have changed so dramatically in recent years. I remember the uproar when a recording of a girl performing oral sex at a concert was made public, now the creation and selling of pornographic content is normalised for many.
