We are going to centreparcs in June and wanted to meet up with some family for lunch, Athlone looked like a convenient location for everyone. Can anyone recommend somewhere that would be suitable with small kids and outside seating/shelter. If there was a hotel/big pub with playground/animals etc to keep the kids happy that would be great.

Hodson Bay Hotel . Sheraton and Radisson all have outdoor eating areas. Also at the back of the castle (Near Seans Bar) there are cafe/restaurant's that have lots of outdoor seating weather permitting.

Where do they have outdoor seating? They are squeezed in between a narrow street on one side and a shopping centre on the other side.

The food there looks very good. Might have to give it a try.

Thanks for that will have a look at the hotel's they normally have a bit of space for the little ones. Do you know if any of them have a covered outside incase weather isn't great, would want to sit out for a bit to catch up with family.

There is a courtyard on the 1st or 2nd floor. We had a work BBQ there with over 150 people.

Hodson Bay have large Canopies out the front and a massive lawn area that is always full of kids playing with Parents eating/drinking , They also have a seated conservatory that runs almost the full length of the Hotel Front. In Normal times place is packed with families at the weekend and seems to work well. BTW Bay Sports is next door.

    Glasson Lake House?

Didn't they set up outdoor tables with a range of food vans last year? It looked nice, super location on a sunny day.

The sheraton has rooftop restaurant on the second floor, it's only open for lunch on saturday and sunday though, the rest of the week it's only open after 6pm

Wineport is hardly fine dining anymore, the food was mediocre the last two times we were there
