In other words you have no idea but just decided to respond with a smartarse comment anyway. Nice one doc.

I said the local didn't bother with the 9 euro meal nonsense and gave the example of how it was operated.

You brought up cases for some unknown reason.

A spectacular example of how to lose. Well done champ.

You also ignored the point on time limits being the best way to encourage more interaction and pub crawls.

Yeah well seeing as how I don`t know where you live how the fcuk can I be expected to back it up? Do us all a favour doc and engage your brain before you post.

    The irony :D:D:D

You dont need to back up anything.

I said (I'll make it clear so you can understand)

The local bar didn't bother with 9 euro nonsense, they had a deal you got a €9 meal and a "free" pint.

"Do tell us how many positive Covid cases there were as a result of ignoring the "nonsense"."

What has that got to do with anything?? haha

I very much doubt it too. Mind you some on this forum like to delude themselves otherwise.

Resorting to ad hominem attacks mean that you have lost the argument.

As many other posters here have already said, NPHET were not "always right". That much is very clear to see given the history of the past 16-months.

    Eh more hyperbole?

Exactly where did Tony bash "young people" having "a drink"?

That said the few acting the mick and wrecking outdoor socialising for everyone else (whatever age they might have been) - were certainly not "holding up their side of the bargain" regardless

This tweet didn't age well for Tony Holohan.

It's now 15-days since that episode and there have been no increase in cases.

And that's without even mentioning the many other mass outdoor socializing that has gone on then elsewhere and since.

Details on the use of pharmacies from next week, over 50s, J&J and must book.
The roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccination programme enters a new phase next week, when around 1,000 community pharmacists will begin administering vaccine doses.

Pharmacists will begin to receive vaccine deliveries from tomorrow.

I’d love if J&J could be used for all! Pharmacies would fly through. How many over 50’s haven’t been vaccinated?

They are getting 50,000 so at least that many.

Likelihood of many of them wanting J&J though?
Consent for all ages and get them us all fully vaccinated ASAP

It'll be available next week and probably in places where the nearest MVC is quite a way off so that may be an easy choice for some of that 60K(correction).

Have they any other stats on the health of the 29% prior to catching it? There's people they have said we're perfectly healthy and I would say they wouldn't make it upstairs to the bathroom without being out of breath.

The city centre was very busy yesterday. All the outside seating in the areas Dr Tony visited a couple of weeks ago were packed with plenty of people out and about.

The difference is the seating and that a lot of the problematic kids are gone.

He sounds like a political dignitary here on a visit

Any wonder he continually oversteps his remit

Unfortunately, they've probably just moved on to other areas where they can reek havoc without the gardai being around.

So 20% of the vulnerable won’t be protected. Where did she get these stats? More scaremongering crap!
No indication of these people were already ill with another disease ie cancer etc!

Very difficult to determine an outcome for a gathering like that tbf.

The only thing we do know is that cases over the last 14 days are not decreasing as rapidly as they should givenour increasing levels of vaccinations.

    https://i.imgflip.com/5d4cpo.jpg

The other point on that would whilst it is accepted that the incubation period for COVID-19 is up to 14 days - not everyone will be symptomatic and not everyone will get tested.

I think the general advice is still to avoid crowded places and stick to social distancing where possible.

Yeah and I know the risk for outdoors is considerably less presuming that.

And there was no information as to how ill the elderly were during the waves, yet covid took them..also scarmongering no?? Also vaccines are less effective the older you are so she may be quite right. In the usa 10% of the population are over 65 and they take up 50% of the beds in hospitals at any one time.⁵

If it winds you up why post it here and give it more life ? Its a tweet from 1 GP, why bother getting worked up.

Era cop on! My point is where is she getting her stats that 20% from?
It’s this rhetoric that will spook our lot here and slow our relaxation down for no good reason! Already talking about slowing down our opening because of 126 cases of delta. No indication at all that it’s spreading either yet we see front page news this morning about it!
It’s all ludicrous at this stage.
This is a forum and I’m allowed to voice an opinion and I don’t agree with what that GP has said without backing it up.
Are we allowed get worked up anymore?
What will you be like when we are told that indoor hospitality and others won’t be allowed resume because we’ll be over cautious once more?
You wouldn’t be one bit happy!

Did NPHET not project cases would increase due to our easing of restrictions, even with more and more getting vaccinated every week? I thought that was the case but I'm open to correction.

As an aside, I wonder will we start to see a decrease in cases now that secondary schools are closed?

The rhetoric of 1 English GP isn't going to spook "our lot"

I've learnt to glance past the BS some put up on twitter. If you don't give it oxygen the nonsense can't spread, pretty simple. Your getting worked up over an English GP that has nothing to do with Ireland, just pass it by she's talking nonsense.

Presuming your referring to the front page of the Independent, I'd suggest reading the article because it's content doesn't match the headline
