    A absolute fu*king joke,

Probably gone off now to celebrate getting a slap on the wrist.

The fine and apology is only for contempt of court. The Covid breach is with the DPP for prosecution.

€3k fine. What an absolute joke. They spent that at the chipper. Truly one law for some and one law for others. How they must be laughing.

    It's actually 3k each so a total of 12k

Fine will never be paid. Might aswell have made it 100k each.

A fine makes no difference to them lads, if the were fined 3 euro each it would never be paid, never mind 3k.

"Judge Johnson adjourned the matter to 1 June for mention"

Maybe that means a follow-up to make sure the fines are paid? Makes sense anyway.

Well well, as predicted a damp Squib, the Bride didn't even bother to show up, some spurious nonsense that she wasn't aware of the court order.

I noted some here mentioned the Judge cut his teeth locally and has had plenty of dealings with this charming section of the community, he certainly does seem to have an understanding,

Travellers, the Judge said, have a very noble and rich culture of which they are justifiably proud, Blaa Blaa Blaa!! Wtf was that all about. I'd say the Gardai present in the court biting their lips.

So a €3k fine, gentle slap on the wrist, as I've said, nothing of consequence will be done and we'll back here soon enough.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

Another slap on the wrist, no doubt,

I really though the judge would have make an example of them, but clearly not.

It’s still only peanuts to them though that’s if they even pay it.

Just some reporting video footage from outside the court, they looked like they were having a great laugh all together, god bless them

Still would have made a fine profit from the wedding so it still paid then to have the wedding and take the fine. Funny to see all the naive here who thought that the judge would punish them.

Sure the Vincent de Paul will be laying that fine -
like all their other fines and bills
they run up knowing they will never put a hand in their own pocket to pay.

I gave up giving or volunteering with the Vincent
de Paul years ago seeing how they absolved everybody from their responsibilities and just were a handout for all free-piggybank no questions asked organisation - regardless of how obscene the bill or how obscene the good they bought.

Maybe when the kids in primary school being force taught ‘traveller culture’ put on our cirriculums by our dept of education they can counterbalance the lies by showing their kids these videos and reasoned debates - and other discussions and experiences of living or dealing with travellers.

This whole shambles has just confirmed everybodies views on travellers & why nobody wants to have anything to do with them.

Hopefully they’ll all catch covid & be done with.

You are getting distracted talking about travellers.

The Guards allowed the wedding to proceed. The judge did not give them a significant punishment.

Many in Ireland are exempt from the law. It goes way beyond travellers. They are not the root of the problem.

So for €9000 you can have a wedding of 120

    €75 per person

    Well worth it I'm sure

Pathetically lenient from the judge but no surprise there

Court case just being reported on the six one news. Just before the groom walks into the court he chucks a cigarette onto the ground. Surely he should be done for littering now!

Lol, it is over, the dust will have settled by then, Judge will check to see if the couple had a nice honeymoon and ask nicely not to misbehave for a while.

This was never, ever going to end up with harsh penalties, it's the way it is and will continue to be I'm afraid

They should additionally fine the scumbag groom the on the spot €250 for discarding his cigarette butt when entering the court building, as featured on RTE News, a complete lack of respect for law and order.

Worth noting that there were no fines imposed by the judge.

The four defendants have been ordered to apologise and pay 3k each to charity.

No money coming into state coffers.

Ah well didn’t really expect anything else did we?

Wow I'm flabbergasted, ignore a court order , run an event for 200 people when the country is in level 5 lockdown . Walk away with what equates to a €60 per guest fine . Unbelievable. For an ethnic minority of less than 40000 people they sure do end up involved in alot of strife.

Still an absolute joke. Should be jail time.

Absolute scumbags the lot of them. That goes for the judge aswell.

Sure that was just displaying an aspect of their "very noble and rich culture of which they are justifiably proud" as the honourable judge put it.

Look at the state of them.

I see they only got engaged on March 12th, yet the marquee owner said the wedding had been booked back in October, and at that stage he reckoned we'd be in the clear by now.
