Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just as well the net stopped that.

That could have damaged the stadium

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,801 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

I never seen a player light up so quickly when he realised he was going to get the ball in space right in front of goal, you know from his body language the moment he received that it was going to be an absolute thunderbastard into the top corner!!

Excellent from Quansah there, the speed to get back and ability to decelerate

He has been up for a goal, was it Ndidi that came in to block his shot a few minutes before in the box, I think he was just itching to hit one after that chance was taken away.

    Nunez is great craic.

    Kelleher with the armband now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    An Irish captain!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

That goal actually makes me laugh, he hit it so hard

    Massive dive there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,392 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

Did Jones give the captain armband to Kelleher??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,044 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Leicester a bit nuts with this passing out from the back lark - even when it works, the gains seem to be incredibly marginal for such a high risk.

  • Registered Users Posts: 536 ✭✭✭Shooter_galway

Just goes to show the faith they have in kelleher, when was last time we had an Irish captain, was it finnan the last to have the armband

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,392 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

I know everyone will talk about Szobo tonight but what a player Quansah is turning out to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,511 ✭✭✭tinpib

Aw Harvey. He looked so left footed there he reminded me of Antony.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,044 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Endo's also been quietly excellent - taking care of the dirty business, but has also made some brilliant incisive passes. Another one there a second ago to set Szobo free for Elliott's chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,396 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Elliot just took his eye 9ff the ball at the wrong moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Yeah it's nothing crazy but he hits his passes through the middle with really good zip on them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

How is that not a second yellow??? He clearly boots it away in frustration after the whistle.

Incredible second half performance from Endo. Literally mam performance here.

    Goallllllllll

    ******

What a bloody finish from Diogol!

    Excellent from Quansah too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,396 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Great goal for Jota. Super play by Quansah.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,491 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Whole Lotta Jota

This squad is shaping up to be the best one Klopp has ever had

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,086 ✭✭✭BeepBeep67

    Had to be 3-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

With a touch of nonchalance we potentially secure another 3-1 win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

    Blow it up ref.

I stuck a €5 on the 3-1 as soon as we went a goal down.

6 minutes injury time so there's nothing secure just yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,724 ✭✭✭Cartman78

Following on Sky Sports New....yer man goes "And there's been a fourth goal at Anfield...(long pause)...but who's it gone to, Rob Earnshaw??"....(long pause).........

Lovely goal from Jota....my blood pressure spiked there for a few second for sure with that shyte from Sky though 😂

Elliott is determined not to score

Fell behind and win 3-1..... again.

Kelleher finishes with the armband on.

    Debut for Chambers.

Any 40-50m CB would be doing well to look as comfortable as Quansah looks- providing as assist too !!

Nunez, causes havoc and the Kop have fallen for him big-time.

Gravenberch gets better everytime I see him.

Szoboszlai ..... what a hit son... what a hit ! An absolute gem of a player.

    So many positives.

2.0 looks to be coming together very nicely indeed.

Another win keeps confidence high in the squad on to the next game

Did Kellier get the armband when Jones was subbed?

Everyone played well, Gakpo, Endo, Elliott the standouts, we actually have strength in depth.

We have a really really good squad now. Qansah a huge bonus to it.

Only got the last 15 minutes. Looked like a frantic game!

Who were the standouts? How was Doak?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,044 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Doak struggled to create much... looks like a ball of potential energy when he has it, but his man kept him fairly quiet. He needs to play the pass/cross a bit earlier sometimes, as right now his man just knows to block the dribble. Needs to give defenders a bit more to think about.

Everyone pretty good though, Elliott, Gravenberch and Endo all impressive in midfield, and Quansah and Konate strong at the back. Gakpo very tidy throughout, and looks to be linking well with Gravenberch. Jota struggled a bit, a few heavy touches, but a brilliant instinctive finish for the 3rd.

  • Registered Users Posts: 956 ✭✭✭internelligent

A little disappointing. He'll have better games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,801 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Endo man of the match for me tonight, he was everywhere, and not just doing the dirty work, he's well able to pick out a pass and get us going forward....We really could have scored 7or8 at our easy there tonight, it was baffling how some of the chances did not go in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

3-1 in our last four games and six 3-1 results in our last nine.

Can't say I'm missing the old midfield in any game so far this season.

In other news 900 people attended Henderson and Gerrards latest game in Saudi Arabia 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,044 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

As an aside, nice to see City's chances of a Quad dead nice and early in the season. Also makes this cup a much easier win, especially with some fairly decent depth in the squad now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,491 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Very interesting stat, Liverpool have a chance at winning the Quad this season, Man City have no chance whatsoever 😆

We'll never get a home draw against either Blackburn or Bournemouth....
