I know it's inconsistent and the refs are rubbish but jesus christ can we stop doing stupid things to give them an excuse. Diaz and Trent needlessly booked there and Diaz in particular is a ticking time bomb now

Joelinton should really have been booked for his two arm drag back in midfield. Even if advantage was played it slowed down the attack enough. Plus it was so cynical you just can’t ignore issuing a yellow card just because you played advantage. But you can according to Mike Dean.

Ah here decisions going against liverpool have been nowhere near as bad as our finishing. Nothing shocking in terms of decisions except Joelinton should have been booked. Have had so many chances played well enough, newcastle poor. It should be 3 or 4 nil

Nunez needs to be hooked. You cannot miss the chances he does. He just is not good enough atm to justify inclusion. I was always of the view he would come good but for the first time I'm leaning the other way.

I've said it for a few years now that mo is awful on pens. Showed it again tonight. Mind boggling he is still on them with his record.

Agree, if they just play the game and stop playing against the ref they’ll win. The ref has got one decision wrong, we’ve missed a bucketload.

This. Two decisions have gone against us, nowt else. Neville also didn't say nothing went against us, he referenced the Joe Linton ones. Our own worst enemies tonight between wasteful passing, missed pen and dissent. Need an early goal second half.

Lads that Nunez chance is a really good save from their keeper. He's out quick, he closes off the right hand side of his goal and gets a good leg up to save. If it was Ali on Iask we'd be saying he was superb there again.

Apparently they're now saying the rule is if you get a shot off during a played advantage the ref doesn't go back and book the player who committed the foul.

I think I could find 100 instances of the ref going back after advantage to give the booking.

All the players stopped playing waiting for the free kick. The ref basically told them to start again.

This is what I can't get, how many times over the years have we seen a player getting booked when the ball goes out of play after an advantage has been awarded.

The officials simply don't know the rules are they're really really incompetent.
