Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Williams is an interesting one alright.

Personally, from what I've seen of him, if he's going to make it at a top team it is more likely to be in that sort of a winger position, rather than as a fullback. He's inclined to be caught ball watching in defensive positions, but his pace tends to get him out of trouble some times, it's probably more suited to being used in attack. Interesting to see how he gets on, and Bradley too.

That's definitely a stronger Leicester team than I expected, if we can get a result it would be a very good showing from us. Very much a game where if we get through, great, if not, oh well I'll forget about it 10 minutes after the game.

Very happy with that Liverpool lineup.

    League is the priority here.

Hope we win tonight but won't be crying myself to sleep if we're knocked out.

Leicester gone pretty much full strength....hard to get too excited about it either way tbh

Winning this would be Massive for Leicester. Crap start to the league. City are out. Another winners medal in this era. They'd be mad not to go for it.

Looking forward to seeing Bradley and Koumetio.

Leicester have had a nice break can afford to go full strength

Totally, makes absolute sense for them. Top 4 was never really on the table, and even less so now that Utd have brought in a manager, so a cup would make it a terrific season for them.

Good save from Kelleher there on Daka - we saw him putting those chances away in the EL.

Balls. Kelleher did alright to get down, but just not a strong enough hand...

    Rough start.

    Tsimikas awful for that goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

    Could be along night.

Both full backs guilty of giving the ball away cheaply.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,295 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Should be easy for Leicester full strength V make shift defence

Leicester are not in the last 16 of the CL, or in a title race, so it's reasonable to expect they'd be fielding a strong team, they want to win trophies, they one FA Cup last season, here is another chance.

This Liverpool selection is a white flag, you can't expect anything but a big defeat.

    Gomez gone walkabout again...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

    Yikes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,041 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Would've wanted Koumetio to do a lot better in stopping the ball across as well... was very easy for Daka to pick his pass.

Only hope is that Hendo can galvanize them.

Judging players in a thrown together side is difficult,

We're well able for that with the full team - or close to it - but with the changes the last night and tonight we need to be playing a more canny game.

    Good game this

Y'know what, I bloody love the Carabao Cup. On the one hand, the pressure is kinda off, cause the stakes are so much lower than every other week. And on the other hand, you get some great exciting games with teams shaken up a bit, and get to watch a few of the lesser seen lads step forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Kelleher's going to get plenty of practice tonight anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,041 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Some lovely passing out of Billy so far in fairness!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,041 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Ah great chance for Taki there, but he had to be quicker about things - needed to get the shot away as soon as the opportunity opened up for him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Looked a penalty to me,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Billy Koumetio is a tank of a man at 19. Looks to have quick enough feet too for a CB and wants to get on the ball and pass too. Reading, positioning etc. comes with time but he has the size, confidence to want the ball and shown some glimpses of passing ability. Definitely looks a prospect.

Of course he gives it away just as I post that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Not having that from Kelleher though, down the middle, don't care how hard it was hit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,041 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

That was well done from Morton to get himself in front of Vardy and make the chance that much harder.

    <edit>

    Balls. Cracker from Maddison.

3 goals, and can't really blame Kelleher for any of 'em. Was down the middle alright, but so, so fast.

Peach of a goal, no stopping that unfortunately, it landed perfectly for Madison

Leicester can have this one as long as Liverpool win next week

Gomez is not up to speed, caused the first, and nearly another there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,580 ✭✭✭✭Riesen_Meal

    Gomez fast asleep there....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,295 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Real Madrid can have Gomez on this form

Gomez lucky his attempt at a rugby tackle missed or we're down to 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

I think Kelleher just got a touch on that to prevent the fourth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,799 ✭✭✭Enzokk

Not expecting much as the match is going on. Leicester hasn't played since the 10th and while they have injury worries, this is their strongest team just about. We have a make shift team, and while we could still make a game of this, with almost everything falling right for Leicester it is going to be a tough one I think.
