Gomez hasn't played in 2 months, so it's not too surprising. No way he'd have started if not for VVD being out, and the other two being wrapped in cotton wool tonight. Phillips would've been ahead of him too. Really he needs a few sub appearances to start getting back up to speed - he's always very slow to get back into form.

Bang of Phil Babb (who looked deadly alongside Paul McGrath) about Gomez (who looks good alongside VVD).

Still think there's a player there, players like him think their pace will get them out of any trouble but he will mature, still only 24.

Its not surprising because his ability to hold alone has always been dire, He has everything physically to be aworld class center back but he doesnt have the head for it

Vardy against Joe is a nightmare, think off all the times our line is awful, Villa away, Milian at home, Tonight its always Gomez

He probably does need a run of game but at this level we cant afford that, when ur called on you have to be on it

Look, it's the league cup. I won't lie and say that I don't care about it because we are losing and probably going to get knocked out. But, it is the 4th trophy. I wanted to win it, given its the quarter final stage but the hand we are dealt with at the moment gives us this.

For me now, I would turn the game into a minutes exercise.

It's clear Gomez needs the game time, and match sharpness so keep him there. And Bobby too. He can rest against Leeds but play against Leicester again possibly.

Taki needs minutes to get him going for January.

I'd be looking to seriously manage Hendo, Ox & Tsimikas now. Possibly even Morton too, given the CM situation.

Keheller is pretty ty average shot stopper bit great at build up play , i think he should have saved the first one

They can play the kids against Man City and then be fresh to play us again on the 28th.

Dewsbury-Hall sounds like a wedding venue but he looks handy.

Not sure about this Beck sub... I'm sure Klopp doesnt' want Tsimi getting too tired, but fullbacks are so important to our attacks, and it's hard to see Beck having anything like the same impact...

They're the ones where you see the difference in quality between the first tier and second tier. That Keita ball to set up Taki for instance - you know Mane would've taken that down.
