Gini had similar chance on Sunday

Ah, I’d have loved ourselves and Leicester to finish in the top four.

As long as we do though, nothing else matters now. Two wins and it’s as good as certain, I think we can manage it.

Kinda of the worst result really a one goal win for Chelsea. Still in our hands to go 4th tomorrow.

    Technically not true
We could lose tomorrow' and still finish ahead of Leicester

I fancy Spurs to beat Leicester

Be gas if Chelsea lose away to Villa, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Well is going to be interesting

Was hoping it would be easier but oh well. I wouldn't trade playing Palace on the final day for Villa or Spurs, now beat Burnley.

Or even draw. Would finish outside the top four of pool and Leicster win their last games in that scenario

Hardly certain, 2 one goal wins and Leicester to beat Spurs by 3 would do them.

I also fancy Villa to get a draw with Chelsea
So win out two gamesni reckon we will come 3rd

Still would love us to finish with 2 wins but not 100% needed if Spurs can do us a favour.

Leicester aren’t beating anyone by 3 goals, let alone Spurs.

    Good thing Southampton aren't involved!

They got what they deserved tonight. Very lacklustre.

Spurs aren't able to do themselves a favour, so I wouldn't be relying on them at all, I think Leicester will beat Spurs quite easily. We need a convincing win against Burnley to open up the GD, but, I think it'll be another struggle tomorrow night, so the last day will be interesting, I'd actually have more faith in Aston Villa doing us a favour than Spurs.

Forgive me but Palace and goal difference has a familiarity about it :( anyway first job is tomorrow night.

2 wins was required before the game to be certain, it's the same now.

Aston Villa are on the beach. 1 win in last 7 games. Spurs at least have a European spot to play for and with Kane and Son they always have a chance of getting something.

If we finish equal with either Leicester or Chelsea in goal difference we'll rank above them based on superior GD in head to head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,306 ✭✭✭Alonso77

is it not GD then Goals scored then head to head?

Yeah I get where you’re coming from. I’v very thankful that we don’t need to go chasing goals like we did then, just two one nil wins should be enough, it would be a complete abnormality if we still missed out after beating Burnley and Palace.

If you’re Klopp or a Liverpool player, you can’t account for Leicester beating Tottenham by a 3 goal margin. Just win your games, and win them comfortably if you can, but 6 points is the only priority and if that isn’t enough for the top 4, we’ll be hugely unlucky but we’re blessed to still even be in with a chance after the season we’ve had.

You're right, goals scored, then head to head. Leicester currently have scored more

I THINK Villa for sure beat Chelsea on final day of the season, that's a tough one to finish with.

Sorry, wrong. Its goals scored before head to head.

Best case scenario would be at least a 2 nil win tomorrow night, with Salah getting just 1 more than Kane does against villa.
Into the last round then with Kane needing to score against Leicester just to at least go level with Salah for the golden boot.
Kanes a greedy sod. He'd happily win golden boot and see spurs loose, chances are hell be playing champions league anyway next season.

Burnley's home form is horrific and our away form is excellent - so that makes it straight forward anyway..........

Burnley having fans at the stadium is the little extra wringle though... changes their home form dynamic i think.

Hopefully Nick Pope doesn't recover just to quickly and missed tomorrow's game but back for the Euros etc.

Burnley having fans back for the first time in over a year is a big factor too.

We could actually do with both West Ham & Spurs also winning tomorrow night, along with Liverpool obviously. We would need Spurs to want to beat Leicester on the final day. West Ham pushing Spurs for this place will ensure they do need to win that game.

Its all behind the couch viewing from here on in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

If we play like we did against West brom we can forget it, I can just picture Burnley sitting back ad us spending 90 mins trying to walk the ball into the net as per usual

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭BoardsMember

If we score first we should be ok. If we score early, even better. The longer it goes on with us not being ahead, the more unbearable its going to be. I may need drugs for tomorrow night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,902 ✭✭✭Girly Gal

The performance doesn't matter tomorrow night or when we score, what matters is that we win. Winning keeps our destiny in our own hands.

Form goes out the window for this. Burnley with fans back a no big red Dyche knows what’s at stake. It’s gonna be a stinker altogether. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if we drop points but we wouldn’t be totally out of it if we do.

If we win it’s massive. Serious pressure on Leicester then. I wouldn’t be surprised though if we both dropped points before it’s over.

What we've learnt from Leeds and Newcastle is that we need at least 2 goals in every game to win.

I don't think I could take going in to the last 5 minutes of the next two games defending a 1-0 lead.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,564 ✭✭✭RugbyLover123

Im quite happy we have Nat at the back for a game like this. Perfectly suited for him.

    Yup.

Just see Brighton yesterday. I know it was against 10 men, but there is no way momentum goes with Brighton like that without fans.

And Burnley's fans are arguably even more raucous.

It's a very dangerous game tonight.

We've done wonderful over the last 5/7 games to get to here to be fair to Klopp and the team. Momentum is with us

our form away to Burnley pre Covid was good and i dont think its gonna be like an atmosphere at a Galatasaray match so no reason why we shouldnt be confident given recent form

Everyone's recent form away to Burnley has been good :pac:

If we finish 4th, and Chelsea 5th, but they win the Champions league.
    Do we loose out?

It hasn't been asked in about 10 hours so I wasn't sure.......

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,306 ✭✭✭Alonso77

lets not discount the idea that we might get an extra buzz and incentive from playing in front of a decent sized crowd for the first time in 14 months

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭FinnC

If we score first we should be ok. If we score early, even better.

Dunno about that, see the recent games against Leeds and Newcastle. I think Liverpool need to be 3 or 4 up before I think they will actually win. Even against Man United they let them back into it when the game should have been well over with the chances they missed.

No, five English teams go into the Champions League.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

But, like, are your sure sure? Not just sure, but double sure, sure, like? Shur, anyone could be just sure.

If we don't beat Burnley and Crystal Palace, we don't deserve to be playing CL football next season.

Even if we do we still probably don’t deserve it with all the ****e we have played but I’ll fecking take it.

Are only Burnley fans allowed to attend the match? No away supporters?
