Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelsea are full to the brim of talented youngster's out on loan around Europe 22, nearly double the amount of City 12, Utd 14 and ourselves 12.

It’s a business model Chelsea has had for 10+ years. They are effectively framers

New rules coming in where in where you can only loan out 8 players next season, going down to six in 2024-25. There are some exceptions, like those under 21 and club trained players. At the very least it will put a stop the the likes of Chelsea hoarding the best talent at the club.

"New regulations that cap the number of international loans in and out of football clubs are set to come into force in July, in an attempt to prevent teams from stockpiling talent.

The new rules, announced by FIFA on Thursday, will see clubs limited to a maximum of eight international loan signings in and eight loaned out.

This total will drop to seven ahead of the 2023-24 season and remain at six from 2024-25 and beyond."

Hopefully we can put together a run now, one that makes the City game a big one. Eight league games until then and plenty of cup games mixed in. And one thing we've seen from Klopp's Liverpool team, after January they usually put a run together. Could be a glorious few months ahead.

Just need the 3 points today don't care how we get it. Need to put some sort of pressure on city or as earlier poster said last nights result means nothing

I'd give Matip (best CB in the league this season IMO) the game off and give Konate a run out.

    Matip and Ox start

Happy with the team, should be good enough for 3 points, bench looks okay for options too.

Mane loves this fixture - has scored against Palace 9 times in a row. He will be missed.

I think we should have enough to win, but it won't be easy. Palace are more settled under Vieira now than they were in September and that game was no walk in the park.

Hoping Jota can continue his hot streak in front of goal and then we can reinact the 19-20 tactic of keeping the lead.

    Robertston crossing? Come on

You can't play like your waiting for Salah or Mane to finish it, they're not even in the country!

STEP UP, shoot low and hard!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,511 ✭✭✭tinpib

Nice to see Hendo take a shot from the edge of the box. We haven't been doing enough of that in recent games, always seemed to be "trying to walk it in".

And Virgil scores from the resulting corner. Great to have him chipping in with goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

A second goal from a corner in short order after an absolute famine!

    Get in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

Good stuff so far..keep it up lads.

Have Jota as my FF captain. Bet I've jinxed him big time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,490 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    VVD!!

He never scored enough from set pieces, so I said, glad he proves me wrong,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Love Jota’s new song, one of the best I’ve heard in ages.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Palace have settled a bit. Pity we didn’t get a 2nd while they were all over the shop there for the first 10 minutes or so.

Such a great smile from Alisson after that save. Not even remotely concerned.

What a great save from Ali.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

It won't count in any stats or anything but what an incredible save by Alisson

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Never understand the narrative that Sky and others try to push that the 3-3 draw against Palace in 2014 "cost Liverpool dearly".

It made absolutely no difference in the title race

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Ah fab I would've expected him to hit the target from there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

    Playing good stuff..

Great to see with Salah and Mane away. It's like we are back in the groove.

That said I'd be more comfortable if we were 3 goals up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That’s a shot on target from Robbo, they all count.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,490 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    OX IN THE BOX!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Top class goal, another assist for Robbo and the finish was deadly from The Ox.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

Lovely stuff..f*ck this I'm having a beer. This is vintage Liverpool

Great move, great take and finish by Ox. It’s really great watching this team for 5 years now.Trent and Robbo are out of this world.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Should have been a yellow there.

    Booted Jota on the knee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Matip almost sets up a Palace goal. Been very shaky the past week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Christ what's going on all of a sudden

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Liverpool doing silly things now. Need the half time whistle so Klopp can have a word with them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Van Dijk hasn’t lost a yard of pace, he’s lost about an acre. It’s so noticeable.

Another one of those days where I feel we're capable of scoring 3 or 4 +, and also that we'll have to if we're to have a good chance of winning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Totally dominant but our own sloppy mistakes giving Palace chances. Alisson keeping them out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Thankfully he’s still brilliant positionally, that’ll never leave him at least.

I just don’t know how viable the extremely high line is with a much slower Virgil and Matip who was never the quickest to begin with. With one of Gomez or Konate it can work, but against strong counter-attacking teams we could suffer badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

Very shaky end too that half

It was very obvious in the last palace attack. Blessed to still be 2 up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,661 ✭✭✭DJIMI TRARORE

A defensive shambles, even if Palace haven't scored, but going forward we could explode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,645 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Sloppy is the word alright. Fortunate to not concede 1 before the break there, and Selhurst is not the kind of place to give the crowd something to go for, they will lift the roof if it goes 2-1 so we need to keep it tight.

Virgil is a shadow of the player he was on the turn, very ordinary nowadays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Palace not really creating much themselves. Liverpool have basically handed them chances through their own sloppiness. Definitely a casual gene in this Liverpool side in games they feel well on top in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,490 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Liverpool need to wake up this second half,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Liverpool have somehow been on top nearly all this game and have still coughed up a pile of chances to Palace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Absolutely all over the place. Could and should be 2-2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,672 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

It should be 4-2 to Palace

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

    Did is say vintage Liverpool

What are we at. All over the place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

If Palace get one, you'd think they'd get a 2nd pretty quickly.
