Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He was having a very quiet game, but then scored and is more involved now alright. Great player to have when he gets a run of games fully fit.

That offside line is so good. Well done Gomez

Given the concerns around the starting lineup, this is one of the most impressive 45mins of the season.

    Liverpool in total control.

Maybe, just maybe Klopp knows a thing or two about picking a team!

Milner knows all the tricks 😅

JoeLinton is as moany as Fernandez. Could’ve had 3 cards already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Mane should make that 2-0. Great chance.

Looked like Jota could of given Diaz a tap in there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Jota should have passed it to Diaz, geez

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Jota cleaned out there - no free kick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,529 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

Fabinho has been on his arse 4-5 times already since he came on, must be slippy

Really should have put this game to bed by now.

    I'm officially nervous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

The officials really have to look at this offside rule, it's been widely discussed about the possibility of a player getting injured during a play thats not going to count due to a linesman not putting up his flag.

There was one there a couple of minutes ago were the flag didn't go up yet the linesman says to either a Newcastle player or into his mic.. "miles off" so if he's that sure, why not just put up the flag.

Finishing today has been pretty poor. Jota has hit 3 chances straight at Dubravka.

    I feel sick.

    This is worse than Covid

We were comfortably better than Newcastle. They had so many advantages and still we should have won 3 or 4 nil. Scary how good this team is. I don't care if we only end with one trophy this season, the ride is brilliant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,090 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Get in get in get in get in.

Klopp showed us all up. Milner showed us up.

    Joe Gomez brilliant.

Come on Leeds. Marching on together 😆

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Good solid win. Milner outstanding and Newcastle snuffed out and barely a threat.

Didn’t find it a nervy win at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,388 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

I guess the lads picking the team know what they're at.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Leeds have an identical record as City over last 5 games

    3 wins , 2 draws

Leeds haven't lost a game since early Mar

Job done. Good performance, better finishing would have brought more comfort, but no great energy expended by the team either. Milly, Joe, Naby, all good when they came in, Diaz less so, Jota a threat throughout but his finishing was poor.

1-0,3 points, job done, see u Tuesday!

Comfortable as a 1.0 win can be would of been more Comfortable if finishing was better but 3 points,go again Tuesday evening

It is amazing that some posters get so upset with other posters that are totally enjoying the football Liverpool are playing these last years and for being so positive about this Liverpool team and Klopp.

Easy enough win but we were very wasteful up top.

The boys that came into the side today done well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,586 ✭✭✭cmac2009

In hindsight, we overestimed Newcastle based on some decent recent form against average opposition. Still a big gulf between them and any top six team.

Superb performance and should have won more comfortably.

    24 shots

    10 on target

    1 goal

    68% possession

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That’s as comfortable a 1-0 win as you get, never felt remotely concerned about the win once Naby Lad gave us the lead.

Now we can all dream for three hours before Leeds buckle under the pressure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Klopp didn't overstimate them anyway he say them for what they are and was happy to give players a rest and rotate the squad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

    Honestly, who gives a ****.

Some people just like a whinge.

We're the best team in the planet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,090 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

The offside line today was fantastic. Gomez played it perfectly for when Newcastle went in and scored while offside. Saint Maximum I think it was.

The last 10 mins, they kept catching Newcastle offside as Newcastle tried to apply some pressure and get an equaliser.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That was the 42nd win of the season a new club record.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Very good performance apart from being wasteful with chances, the likes of Milner and Gomez came in and played admirably, Gomez in particular was very good I didn't think he had that type of game in him as a RB.

Slim hope Leeds do us a favour later, don't think I will watch as it's too painful to see City dominate teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Gomez weirdly seems to be much better going forward than he used to be from RB.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Hyperbolic nonsense of a post tbf, 'so upset'? That didn't really happen.

That was a very relaxing 1 nil away from home..my missus must have slipped something into my coffee.

I was very zen during that. Not normal for me at all. Just goes to show how good our lads were
