Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Our defending is so passive it’s a joke.

This could be long 2nd half another hiding away from home it's looking like

Disgraceful defending, not getting anywhere close to getting a tackle in.

    MAKE SOME FOOKING SUBS... .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    I'd be shocked.

The team doesn't have the belief this season. They know they're not quite at the standard required.

It's going to be a trouncing now.

We needed the referee to get the Rodri decision correct. And that is so defeatist, but it's true given our current state.

Love to know what the message was at HT

He got himself back onside once the ball was touched by another player. It's fairly basis play you would see from most centre forwards but completely bewildered our center halves for whatever reason!!!

Heads went after conceding the first

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

It’s not that losing here will end our top 4 hopes, it’s the fact that we don’t have a chance of it anyway because we’re conceding such sh*te goals.

    Hmmmm.....let's see that

    Nah. Diving baxtard

Legs are not there. City just playing the ball around...

    no intensity all game....

    Embarrassing from Gakpo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,875 ✭✭✭hynesie08

Gakpo lucky to not get booked.

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭Summitatem

Decent reflection of where we actually are.... Maybe a top6 team....way off the actual top.

Even if this went 3 - 2 you'd not fancy us. Utd result was a huge outlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

City are allowed to be as rough on us a they want, any roughness by us on a City player = free kick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Trent is absolutely terrible

    Serious change required there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

We could be out of our misery by next Sunday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

The only tiny consolation is that this result might stop Arsenal from winning the league.

At least when City win it, it already means nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

That's the horrible pathetic attitude Utd fans had when we were challenging City tbh.

Can't bring myself around to it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

It's a cliché, but it's true - the margins are fine at the very top of the food chain.

If you stand still, you will be found out.

It was true 20 years ago, and it's true now.

The fulcrum of the team was let rot, and without that midfield fulcrum, and having the required foresight to solve it, this is what you get.

Honestly, with 2 additions in there, we're immediately contenders again. That's how fine the margins are. But when you're not on top of refreshing the team, it only needs one area to rot for the other top teams to overtake you in a season.

Weirdly that's how I look at it too. City winning is just the normal and highlights the financial doping even more IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

This team is done... too many lackluster performances.... City players want it more....they running themselves into the ground and we are jogging around....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

If id a euro for every cliched "this team is done" comment in here this season I could probably fund the rebuild myself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭Summitatem

Arsenal winning means that one doesn't need financial doping to compete. Better for the PL if they hold on imo.

Begrudging Arsenal the title is just sad imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

its looking more like fact every time we play.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

What is VVD at there..... smashing the ball away twice with no one around him...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,694 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Is Klopp trying to make a statement with those subs? There's 4 far worse players than Mo, Jota and Robbo out there today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,321 ✭✭✭ratracer

And the one to change our game is the Ox?? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Arthur is having a grand oul time of it

    Money for old rope

Eliott and Robbo were really poor imo.

Mo scored a beaut and obviously butchered one but was maybe just quiet.

I think it's just admitting defeat and planning for Tuesday night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Saps

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭Summitatem

Henderson, Fabinho and Ox.... On the pitch midfield trio as I type. Ox is gone and the other two should be easy to upgrade on their current capabilities/presumed future contributions.

Hopefully the club see it as simply.

    Letting him score hurts

    Ah TAA, pure laziness.

okay, Trent, you just stroll back when you're ready

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 677 ✭✭✭FernandoTorres

That was a result of Trent burning himself out going on a mad run around the pitch on his own 2 mins beforehand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,664 ✭✭✭dirkmeister

Jesus that was bad from Trent.

This is on Jurgen. From minute one, there’s been an acre of space on each flank and he’s done nothing to address it.

Loads at fault there, and frankly I'd expect better from Alisson

I’d nearly be annoyed if we beat Arsenal and so cause a 6 point swing in favour of this mob in the title race!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

It's ridiculous defending again as has been said most games this season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,645 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Second half has been as bad as I've seen in the Klopp era. I've never seen us as off the pace and with as little energy of effort before. Completely disheartening performance, the first side I've seen us give up like this.

You simply can't operate at the EPL level without a functioning midfield. The 3 tried in the first half nd just about kept heads above water, but since the break the tank has been empty. The only thing that worse than seeing Ox coming in to save the day would be to see Melo and Naby come on behind him, shows the level our midfield is when we're asking him to come in in a game like this.

We're looking like United at Anfield at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Trent is a complete liability at this level without a functioning system around him pressing the opposition.

He has been targeted relentlessly all game for a reason.

He's is a ludicrously fantastic footballer, but he's cement in his feet on defence. He can't cope.

  • Registered Users Posts: 971 ✭✭✭AdrianG08

The fact JK has one system of playing and sticks to it rigidly regardless of personnel, is just crazy.

In reality, the whole thing is built on sand, if you remove one card from this system the whole thing collapses.

We saw it a couple of seasons back when we shipped 5 losses on the spin.

No midfield and we see how poor our defenders are at actually being defenders.

Crisis season. Major overhaul needed. Do we have the owners to achieve it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma
