Gloriously sunny in Arklow just 50kms south of Dublin
Nudging 22c now and it's still morning

Scorchio here in Cork City... man... I am not able.. ok - I know - I shouldn't be complaining but I can't take heat.. I hate rain but happy with say, 18ºC and a little breeze... got burn't on Friday cycling wearing SPF 30

But for those of you who love the sun, enjoy..

Family in Cavan have nada but grey skies.. I feel for those of you who love Sun but don't have it today

Grey skies and looks like it could rain in galway/mayo. Fingers crossed for some improvement

The last time Dublin Airport recorded rain was on May 28th, so it is likely now in 'official drought' territory. No great amounts of rain forecast for this coming week either but with an expected run of (potentially severe) showers running up through the southern two thirds of the UK during the 2nd half of the week, maybe a slight chance of the Dublin region grabbing some of these showers later in the week and more especially towards the weekend.

Sun came out for 2 seconds here about half an hour ago. Seeing tiny little blue punch holes dotted around the sky so maybe a chance of some more random 1 to 5 second glimpses of sun later on.

At least it will be warm and humid tonight though
    That will be “pleasant”

    Winds shifted in Arklow now
Gone Southerly off the sea in response to the inland heat
Nature and science is an amazing wonder
That'll peg temp here back to 18 or so

Out for a sail in Dublin Bay atm and wind hasn't a clue what it's up to! Off land one minute, off shore the next and calm in between! From here looks like cloud thinning over Dublin now.

    Yeah it will thin
The layer of cloud inland is playing havoc with the dynamics
Its helping here as the sea breeze direction is struggling
We've got SSW here at the min (land just about) and 22.2c and sunny
    Absolutely beautiful
Breeze average 14kmh but has gusted 30
    A pure scirocco:D

thick cloud layer here in Meath, doesn't look like it's going to break anytime soon either, very dissapointing.

Beautiful warm morning from 7.30am to 10am here just south Sligo Town. Got lovely run in.
Since 10 has clouded over, got breezy and temperature dropped a bit. Cloud from West being held off til later as expected, but then sneaky band of cloud came up from South East...can't win!

Lovely here now the last hour or so.... Cloud almost took over but mostly blue sky now here. Good breeze though which is needed

Dull overcast, no uniform clear sky countrywide so that we could all enjoy. Trying to see if it's breaking up on the satellite and it's not really. Meh.

Sun out now in Dublin 5 and really warming up. Been cloudy since earlier but can see blue sky now between clouds and sun starting to burn through. I think it will be a warm afternoon

Another cracker of a day in Cork.. While we were having a cracking June in Dublin it wasn't great down here according to friends.. This weekend certainly making up for it.. Very hot

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,291 ✭✭✭✭Thelonious Monk

Sat out the back for an hour and a half in d5 and I'd say there was max 10 mins sunshine! Very dull now. It's still pleasant though nice and warm just disappointed no blue skies.

no change here in Meath, not even a second of hazy sunshine. It's very pleasantly warm but the warm uppers are going to waste with all that cloud. Overall this weekend has been very dissapointing compared to the week just gone and the week before that where we have had sunshine every day at some point.

They really got this one wrong, RTE last night had zero cloud from 11am onwards in Dublin. Now we're not even getting sunny spells!
Friend just sent a pic from a beach in Wexford and there's not a cloud in the sky though.

Still on beach here in Dublin and still roasting even without the sun.

When it does appear the heat is unreal!

The clouds are breaking up compared to thick dark ones this morning.

Best day so far down in Cork. South and south east having the best of it today.

Well we only managed about 3 hours of a bright spell in Castlebar this morning, currently have the lights on due to how dull and dark it is outside and the temperature is just scrapping 16C in 98% humidity with rain just around the corner.

    :D So true!

25c at Oak Park at 3pm.

    Oak Park 24.5 °C at 3 pm.

Valentia midday sounding. A low cloud layer from 1000-950 hPa and again around for 850 hPa. Oak Park is in about the optimum area this afternoon, inland southeast, not too cloudy.
