No idea to be honest. When people from other parts of the county or, for some reason, Mayo, ask where you are from and you tell them, they slowly begin to back away. :pac:

We had a beautiful week up until Thursday. Friday was dull and cloudy with rain in the evening. Still mild though and ditto yesterday with a bit of sun in the afternoon. This morning is miserable heavy rain a pic of a day and made worse for those of us who work Monday to Friday. This weekend of high summer a write off now.

Dublins weather this summer never ceases to both amaze and seemingly contradict in equal measure!

    Met say:
there are early indications that sunshine will be present nationwide by the middle of July.
early indications the warm weather will continue, with lower rainfall levels than normal predicted across the country.
temperatures are likely to be above average for the last week of July, average temps expected in the west and north coastal areas.

not that much in the way of showers today in Meath apart from that one very heavy shower a few hours ago. Ground here is fairly damp and it feels more fresh. First night that I can notice it getting darker a bit earlier too.

Ah Jesus Gonza. There’s literally three minutes less daylight lol.

Where I was in SCD it turned into a beautiful afternoon and evening. 19c and not a cloud in the sky come 6pm so there was more outdoor dining.

Lovely in the garden at the moment. Overcast, but the sun is making half an appearance through that cirro/altostratus. A bit of a breeze but still warm and muggy. Everything is still bone-dry, despite the rain of recent days.

Theres about a 20 minute difference already and yesterday evening had very dark clouds so it started to look like very dark around 9.20 yesterday evening here compared to 2 weeks ago where it was clear and still bright after 10.

Once we get into August we will definitely all notice a difference.

    There’s not 20 minutes.

Sunset in Dublin is currently 9.54pm compared to 9.57pm around 24th and 25th June. There’s literally 3 minutes less daylight right now.

I usually only notice nights “closing in” around mid August.

When are these rains due? Was forecast for around 11am but sun still shining here in North Dublin.

Much nicer day than expected in Dublin. No rain and quite pleasant and warm with mix of blue skies, sun and partly cloudy. Yesterday afternoon was very pleasant too, got the grass cut

It's actually getting sunnier and warmer here

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,980 ✭✭✭Slashermcguirk

Yes the forecast seems well off today in these parts. Been outside nearly all day and very pleasant, not a drop of rain. I thought after yesterday morning and the heavy showers the tide was turning but it’s been very pleasant here since yesterday afternoon

There's only a 2-minute difference in sunset. Today's sunset here is 21:56, the latest (on June 24th) was 21:58. There won't be a 20-minute difference until July 21st.

Yes, clouds make it seem darker, but that's a different story.
