And 73-years ago, the Arabs rejected a two-state solution which led to the very war that lost them everything.

If only the Arabs had chosen differently.

Why won’t you answer my question about the deliberate targeting of non military buildings - or does your script not cover that?

What is the 1st thing the Irish left protest about?

    Israel

We are a ridiculous country awash in anti semitism

I have extremely little patience with either side of the Israeli-Palestine situation. They're both as guilty as each other for prolonging this conflict.

However, criticising Israeli actions is not anti-semitism. Such actions should be called up on... just as Palestinian behavior should be critically examined too.

I wonder if the Palestinian kids who will be killed this weekend by incoming missiles know that they are being punished for their imagined 73 year old historical transgressions

12 and a half years ago and Israel are still the same today

    Ah yeah

Anyone following this for the past 25 years will see it's all the same

US UN Council vote veto check
Netanyahu needs to strengthen power check
    IDF targets Palestinian civilians check
    Media blackout in Gaza check
    IDF provocation check

The only thing we are missing this time is the chemical warfare / white phosphorus the Israelis used in 2009

But, they have the nuclear option to surprise us this time

You haven't a clue what you're talking about. It's clear the pro-IDF crowd have very little or no understanding of the history of the conflict.

Had world Jewry decided not to relocate the world's Jews to Palestine in the 19th and 20th centuries we wouldnt be in this mess

When the IRA were undertaking their bombing campaign in London and Birmingham, do you think the British should have sent the RAF to bomb Dublin? After all Britain has a right to defend itself - right?

If the Irish government was openly involved in the bombing campaign the British government would have been fully justified in going to war with this country.

If loyalists were firing rockets at Irish towns and cities we would also be fully justified to go to war

I don’t think calling for Israel to stop its ethnic cleansing of palastinian lands, removing the multi tried apartheid system and asking Israel to stop murdering childeren en masse equates to cheeeing on jihadist Islamic supremicist maniacs...

You are really stretching this now.

If the building is housing military intrastructure, under international law it remains an acceptable target.

That is why Israel gives a 1-hour notice to those in the vicinity that the building will be targeted.

Hamas are choosing to make hospitals, schools, media buildings etc. targets by intentionally housing infrastructure there. And if I were them, I think strategically that's not a bad idea - given the reputational damage with headlines it can cause Israel.

Hamas is cynically exploiting these fissures. Israel is responding as best it can given the challenging situation posed to them, and the intentional risk that Hamas is posing to its own citizenry.

The weird priorities of the Irish left.

Our country has been in the most draconian lockdown anywhere in the world

We have a housing homelessness youth unemployment drugs mental health suicide crisis

We have a clueless and pampered political elite with gold plated salaries and gold plated pensions

What is the 1st thing the Irish left protest about?

One thing I really hate about these threads is how freely posters throw this slur around. Condemning the murder of innocent civilians does not make you a anti semite, makes you human.

Palestine, if it had existed on its own would have been conquered by one of it's Arab neighbors. The only reason there is a Palestine today is because of Israel.

Well, given that almost all Israelis do military service, then by your imagined logic, any Israeli citizen in any location is a legitimate target for Hamas rockets. Is that your position so?

Can you explain exactly in what way the Palestinians control their own borders, seas and airspace?

Any proof of any of that? Or do these after the fact tweets equal fact now?

Where did they launch the rockets from? Was it on top of the building or from the base of it?

Do you think the international journalists would not have relocated when they saw the lad hauling the rockets up and down the stairs?

Do you think Omar’s mother thought - you know where is a great place for my tent? Right here by the rocket launcher...

But I doubt there'd be as many of them crammed into their effective outdoor prison cells. as there are now. Given that no such scenario exists anywhere else in the world. Arab world or otherwise

The Hamas Charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel the conquest of its territory and the killing of all Jews not just in Israel but around the world.

Hamas also believe in a global Islamic Caliphate. Non Muslims must convert or be killed.

The Irish left who supposedly believe in free speech freedom of assembly freedom of religion workers rights the equality of women and LGBT rights are the cheerleaders for this disgusting anti semitic genocidal jihadist Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organisation who want a second Holocaust of the Jewish people.

    It's utterly embarrassing

From 2000-20 32 Israelis were killed by Palestinian rockets, while an estimated 4,000 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes.

The 2017 charter doesn't say this. It even stated they have no issue with Jews but do have with the Zionist movement which stole their land and evicted 700,000 Palestinians. It must be the 10th time this has had to be explained in the thread but the pro-IDF crowd refuse to listen.

    TL;DR

The Palestinian childeren and woman deserve to be killed beacause they happen to be born in an open air prison where the top dogs happen to fire rockets at their imprisoner.

You may want to rethink the definition of embarrassing.

Hamas is imprisoning the population by creating hostile conditions that lead to the situation at present. Israel cannot accept hostile neighbors.
