Bought it 2 years ago & passed the test in Feb

When I got it initally I used to just go up to a local road that had been bypassed by a motorway and it was about 1km with a roundabout at each end

then started going further a field

It was a little scary at first I would be doing the speed limit and the muppets in cars were up yer hole trying to push you down the road faster

The main reason for getting a 650 was that I was expecting to be doing a lot of commuting to work in town from Wicklow along the N11

so wanted a bike that would not struggle to do 100 kmh

Found it hard to get used to the weight and if I were honest I would say that the Versys is a little high for a short arse like me @5ft 6 & 3/4 :-)

So I got a lowering block which dropped it down by 1 & 1/2 in so then I was able to get 1 foot flat or the balls of both feet so that made a big difference

For the last 2 years I have been out on it almost every day in all weather & I have put 20.000 Km on it

@57 years most of it spent in a car I like to think that I have matured and have seen it all

But on the bike you really need to be way aheahd of the complete and utter gobshites they are allowing on the roads these days
