A potential corker of a stage today, with 35.2km of dust/gravel roads in the last 70km! A similar stage in 2010 was won by Cadel Evans in some pretty iconic scenes, with the rain making that a hellish affair. That stage however featured less than half of the amount included in today's stage. It should be great to watch…

Eurosport had an interview there in the stage 12 build up with Dan from after the stage yesterday and he basically said he didn't want to take the risk it wasn't worth crashing, rode his own pace, his licence is for road cycling.

Being discussed on Eurosport now, Sean Kelly correctly says cycling is always a risk, the sprint finishes, the mountain descents etc. he thought Dan will regret saying it.
