While I can understand Lewis frustration, I did enjoy Bono having to give him bad news after them having their little joke about Max’s tires in Barcelona

Jaysus the amount bitter posters here. A poor strategy cost him a load of points in a tight championship you can hardly blame him for complaining.

Ah come on. He's a terrible moaner when things go against him. Complain once and get on with it, not continuously crying down the radio like a big baby.

Bono needs a pay rise having Hamilton in his ears all race.

Ricciardo lapped. Shocker of a performance considering where Norris is.

Does anyone know what camera Hamilton is on F1 TV? My IPTV doesn't list who each is.

Well I don’t recall max making multiple radio messages complaining about the team strategy.

Every driver at the front does it when the strategy works against them.

Vettel, Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo, Max. Every last one of them.

The idea that this is just a Hamilton thing is absolute bollocks and complete confirmation bias.

It was an awful strategy call and he’s lost three places. What should he do? Say ‘great job you guys’?

He’ll give them **** for the **** calls and he’ll be the first to thank them when it does work. What’s the issue here?

He'll be lapped by Norris in a few laps.

Vettle exit pit and stay ahead of Gasly.

Edit: I think its gone now. no overtaking allowed

Hopefully this will be a kick up the arse that Ricciardo needs. Sainz, Vettel and Perez seem to be getting to grips with their new teams now. Ricciardo needs to get his sh1t together.

Hamilton is so used to been first or atleast in the top two when things don't go his way of course he's going to be frustrated and annoyed

Yes every driver does give a less then positive radio call. What they don’t seem to do is multiple calls complaining about it when it’s partly his fault for qualifying poorly.

Nobody was saying it’s just Hamilton ever. We were reacting to this particular race.

Ricciardo is the most underperforming driver this year by a mile.

    Verg unexpected.

I think Ricciardo peaked at RedBull

Aaaaaand he’s been lapped. Massive amount of work for Ricciardo to do.

I’m genuinely surprised he’s struggling. I would have thought he’d be challenging for podiums in a much improved McLaren.

Yeah it’s just not clicking fully for him. It’s a shame as he’s a talented driver.

So why is Hamilton getting all the personal abuse when he does it?

‘Little bitch’, ‘f*cking dick’ - nobody ever attributes that to other drivers when they moan over a bad strategy call.
Nobody attributed that to Danny Ric when he got pissed after Red Bull shafted him here a few years ago, for example.

I am seeing people say ‘the mask slips’ when it isn’t going his way, well obviously.

No other sports forum accepts personal abuse like that aimed at any competitor. Yet for some reason it’s perfectly fine here.

Alonso has probably been just as disappointing as Ricciardo this season. A lot of drivers and teams are putting all there eggs on the 2022 season.

Perhaps because he is a bellend? In most sports, there are people the fans tend to not like very much. Lewis is that person in F1.

Plenty of sportspeople are bellends, but personal abuse like that isn’t tolerated anywhere else.

Well I’m not using those phrases. He isn’t happy clearly and every driver does it. My issue was the number of radio calls about an issue that couldn’t be fixed at that point. He could have had his say on the radio and in the post race debrief he could make his point forcibly if he wants and he’d be in his right.

Only difference the Alpine doesnt seem that great for Ocon either.

Norris shows this McLaren can certainly compete.

Stroll yet to pit? Would it not be worth Merc's while to pit Hamilton for fastest lap and maybe a run at Gasly on fresher softer tyres?

I don’t care if you’re not using them.

People are. And it’s always aimed at Hamilton.

It’s very easy for you to sit there and say you would react differently in that situation. Come off it.

Well quote their posts then and call them out. I’m not using them and I’m taking issue with the amount of times he’s used. yet you seem to have picked me to have a go at. Why exactly ? Talk about personal abuse and yet you’ve decided to have a go at me for terms I’m not using. Well done.

Hamilton venting over the radio is fine, it was when he would ask if he could take a penalty in a way that didn’t affect him that annoyed me!

I remember the Vettel domination days, sure everyone loved him and never criticised him. Especially the finger, no-one disliked that in the least.

Is Perez/Norris been the first battle of this race?

    You replied to me?

You said something about how he acts, I pointed out that despite other drivers moaning, Hamilton is the only one getting personal abuse.

I never ever once said you did it. I pointed out to you that it was happening.

Who is attributing statements to people now?

No further action for Lance stroll.

Perez is much faster than Norris but has virtually zero chance of overtaking him. That's the problem with Monaco.

Red Bull should've brought Perez in for tyres to try take the fastest lap of Hamilton.

Poor enough season so far. Hopefully he figures things out because you’d love to see McLaren with Norris and ric in full form.

But if they allowed it you’d have people pitting from p12/13/14 with a couple to go just to have a go at it which makes a mockery of it

Why doesn't perez pit for new tyres for fastest lap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,529 ✭✭✭recyclebin

Has their even been a single overtake*, or even a front wing change? Only for Leclerc and Bottas this would have been the biggest procession I've ever seen.

    *except via pitstops

Good, this race is over now. Well done Max and well done to Sainz, Norris, Perez, etc.

Vettel overtook but they cut away.

Williams stuggling with the checkered flag is about the most exciting thing today.

Did they not do a trial run for the flag with Serena, she's still trying to figure it out and half the field has finished
