I have a mortgage saver account and have a saved up for the last 6 months.

Can I cancel the direct debit now or do I need to keep the recurring saving until I draw down mortgage in order to qualify for the bonus interest?

    Good afternoon,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here on Boards.ie.

To keep your Mortgage saver open, you will need to have an active direct debit(minimum €200/maximum €2500). To qualify for the first time buyer mortgage interest you must have 6 consecutive months payments going to your Mortgage saver account. You must save a minimum of €5000 in total before your draw down your BOI Mortgage.

For Mortgage advice, please contact our Mortgage specialists on 016113333. One of my colleagues will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

    I hope this information helps.

    Many thanks,
    Megan

I have 6 consecutive months and over €5,000 saved. So can I cancel the direct debit now, and draw down the mortgage by end of year in order to get the bonus interest? Or do I need to keep the direct debit going until I draw down the mortgage?

Thanks for getting back to me.

You can cancel the direct debit and still keep the Mortgage Saver open. You can cancel this on the app by going to payments and then direct debits. Alternatively, you can call us on 0818365365 or 0035314044000. One of my colleagues will be happy to help. They're available 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

    I hope this info helps!

    Many thanks,
    Megan
