Maybe the uncle said to the nurses "whatever you do tell him he's not allowed near me at any time and also tell him I'm unable to use any technology at all.... I'm in here for a break from him!"

I really do tire of the "He's 60/70/80 and can't use technology". My mother is paralyzed down one side and loves her Lenovo tablet and does Whatsapp video calls with us regularly. My 84 year old Faaaader, is sat at his computer typing up a proposal for potential business deal.

The previous caller, could he not talk on the phone to the uncle every day and explain why he can't go in for a visit?

Dublin = unadulterated kip. Its nothing to do with covid stress, it's just a place that's full of scumbags and no amount of rte dancing around that fact is going to change it

We need some audio on this!

Apparently half the seats are out of action so everybody just squeezes together inside the doors and along the aisles - another Irish solution

exactly, I find most of the older generation have taken to new technology very quickly.

my dad refuses to use a touch screen phone, and is using a nokia 3310 or so, but will happily use the eye pad for looking at donedeal etc. in the evening time

I was amazed at the sheer dedication to the job (and their wages too) of most retail staff being exposed to some utter shytes in the queue.

If he took as long to do the checking out as he’s taking to tell the story, I’m not surprised everyone behind got a bit frustrated!

That would likely be eyesight related, which may well affect some elderly people's use of smartphones. My own mother would not have been able to use one because of macular degeneration.

He should keep the head down and don't mind the queue. Let the people in the queue look out for themselves

like the man who would cycle to the train station, dressed in shorts year round, and then sit with his legs fully spread in front of mostly female passengers

Lol complaints about rudness when the usual host regularly talks over elderly callers, laughs at them and plays music and plays on his phone while they are speaking
