    Finding it really hard to get a decent decaf for filter.

    Tried coffee angel and Art of Coffee and enjoyed neither. A Bell Lane single origin decaf I got a while back was the same. I think I may just need to lower my expectations and live with the bitterness. Is there such a thing as a light/medoim decaf?

    Picked up some M&S Colombian decaf beans today - strength 3 - so was expecting medium dark roast but they are super, super dark! They are ok, and not much worse than some of the other decafs I have tried. At least they were cheap

    Oh that's a great thread thanks! A good few lighter roast suggestion which I can follow up on.



    Do people find they have experienced better results with different methods e.g. sugar cane, swiss water etc.?

    I tried a good few when I got pregnant (before going off coffee...) and I found the blue lavazza you can buy in supermarkets the most acceptable.

    I can't remember all the ones I tried, Cloud Picker and Full Circle Roasters for sure, then maybe three or four others from similar roasters. I hated them all.

    I have the art of coffee one and I really like it. Don’t find it bitter at all. Use barista express to make Americano

    Trying the Bell Lane Colombia decaf at the moment and it's the nicest I have tried yet I think. Very little bitterness

    I have tried to go the Decaf route in recent months, both tea and coffee, and there are quite dodgy tasting brews out there.

    I think it is more noticeable in tea over coffee. Had to quit buying Yorkshire Tea Decaf bags as they were constantly busting in the teapot. I find Tetley or Thomsons acceptable.
