    Hi All,

We have a normal Part 4 tenancy agreement. We've been in the place a year and a half and signed no new lease at the end of the last one.

Our rent is due on the 10th. We gave notice that we would be leaving on the 30th of June (gave several more weeks notice than was legally required).

I'm just checking that rent is only due until the 30th of June? And not until the 10th i.e. we only pay a portion of the rent for the last month?

You’re breaking your contract so if you pay
monthly usually your ll will be entitled to charge you for the full amount. But if you gave a
lot of extra notice and were generally decent tenants I’d get onto them and ask. Remind them of the extra notice you gave them & how you always paid on time & how times are a bit tough at the moment - people if they can will often tey and do a decent turn for someone who has been always good and easy to deal with.

It's not breaking the contract though? It's ending the contract within the notice period.

I don't mind paying if it is legally due, I'm just struggling to get confirmation that it is actually legally due.

    Thanks!

I rang threshold to confirm. Rent is only due until the 30th of June.

As you gave the required statutory notice (and then some), you'll only owe rent through June 30th. If your landlord tries to withhold your deposit claiming that you owe arrears beyond the 30th, you can raise a case with the RTB.
