    Would it be an idea to have a standalone thread ( possibly stickied) for property in the city and county.
    There's probably a lot who would contribute, there's always someone looking for information about areas and houses/aparti. We could post properties of interest, discuss prices, availability etc.
    There's one in the Cork City thread and it seems busy enough

    Looking to buy in Galway, currently renting. Viewed a house on the east side, 10KM outside oranmore and it went sale agreed 7% below asking price, back on the market as issues with mortgage drawdown. Didn't place a bid as found more work needed on the inside than originally anticipated from the pictures. Really hope the availability of houses picks up soon!!

    People, make sure you get a good local solicitor. that's my advice to everyone. you could have a great solicitor back where you lived, But now you are here, so build that relationship. + the sale will go through twice as fast as they all know each other.
