Yeah the UK version was full of serious crime, they never did any shoplifting stuff. Part of me wonders if the supermarkets here has some sway to get this stuff shown because there must surely be a lot more serious crimes they could be showing like drunken assaults on the streets and aggravated burglaries, the kind of stuff where victims end up with serious injuries. Theres a lot of CCTV out there so it cant be lack of available footage when the program is only on once a month.

IME Aldi/Lidl only have security in stores in rougher areas and where their stock control is showing shoplifting is a problem. Theres no security in the Aldi or Lidl I use now but I lived in an area before that had a bit of an edge to it and both of them had security. I read before their aisles are designed with that in mind, a security guard can see all the way down them from behind the tills.

The Lidl I go to is in Ballyfermot and I haven't seen security. Maybe they're there in the evening but not when I go. I'm not sure if they expect staff to confront thieves or if they have calculated that losses through theft are less than the cost of paying security to be there permanently.

    It's shown on RTE1+1 , can't recall when it hasn't .

BBC only put their version on Iplayer for 1 day , it's something to do with identity issues in court

Wonder will Conor McGregor's pub feature on the CCTV tonight, someone firebombed it in January but he seems to be taking a different angle to resolve....

UFC star Conor McGregor has offered a €50,000 reward for information on a firebomb attack on his Dublin pub.

In his appeal McGregor said: “Hey guys. I have a 50k reward cash in all 100 crisp untouched notes. Not a wrinkle on them.

“The no wrinkle green backs. I call them yum-yums. For whoever tells us who this little deli-chicken head is.

“The walk, run, and scrawny build all very distinctive.

“Nothing will be said, but done. Reach out to who can reach me. Look forward to doing business,” he added along with a euro note emoji.

Just a thing on the “Wanted on Warrant”, Crimewatch have a similar segment but they actually mention what crimes the individuals are wanted in relation to but yet on Crimecall there’s no mention of why they are wanted on warrant!!!!

Why bother doing the reconstruction video at all when you don't tell us about their accents or a single thing to identify the attackers? They must have been conversing with him througout the ordeal, unlikely they texted him looking for answers.

Kilkenny/Carlow accents, thanks but you could have jaysus given us that detail earlier.

Yes and using the gas bottle on him too like WTF. I hope they are both caught and put in prison for life. People like that do not deserve to be a part of society.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

"The man is white"...great, can we do this for all criminals sought and not just the white ones?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

Neighbour of mine, rural area was driving home. Saw a van pulled in on a little roadway going nowhere. It was pitch dark at this stage. He went on anyways and decided to watch across the fields could he see anything. He sees it pull off and decides to follow it.

They turned right and neighbour turned left and he let them off. Anyways he went up the road and turned back to go home and saw the van ahead of him again going back the way he came. He went on after them for a mile or so until they stop on the road and 3 men all get out and go to the neighbour. "I'm Johnny Maughan from X and we're fox hunting"

You don't know what scumbags are about.

If you don't have a seat belt on it's more than likely that the safety features in the car will kill you rather than the actual crash.

Cant be that hard to track down black tie events in Dublin that night, not like there would be that many on one night

That was Garda Eilis, she sometimes does the CCTV segments instead of Garda Edwina
