Looks like work has started on the new services, business park and housing development on the Nurney road at the motorway junction.

The service station is under construction and probably be open before end of the year.

A new roundabout is to be constructed too that will take in the greyabbey road - a much needed roundabout too.

Is this the site that Kildare Village were using as using as an overflow Car Park?

yep. Business park and housing development going there.

The village will have a new basement & ground level car park open soon - if you go beside the bottle banks in Tesco, you can look through the fencing and see it.

If I were to guess at the operator of the service station, it would be Fitzpatricks who own Jct 14 & Monread Fayre as they were always involved in the planning stages of the overall development. So expect Spar, Supermacs & Papa John Pizza. :)

Thankfully they will be putting in a roundabout and not traffic lights as the town is already infested with the things.

The service station structure looks quite small to be able to accommodate much, I'd be pleasantly surprised if they manage to get a Supermacs & Papa Johns in there.

Really isn't a need for it, let alone anything large, considering you've a Midway at Jct14 and the maxol just off Jct12

Pardon the pun but the area is well serviced. Good luck to them though. Will certainly fulfil a number of residents that side of Kildare town
