Technically Spain still needs the DCC, you don't need to fill out the health form, they just check the DCC - in reality they barely glance at it though ...

Any issues using a recovery cert to enter Portugal and Spain?

    Don't have a booster.

Presume there is no requirement for a test either with a valid recovery cert?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭Solobally8

We flew into Murcia last Thursday. We had put our details into the app so we’re waved through with a glance at the fast control QR code on our phones. Those with DCC certs were stopped and scanned. No biggy very fast process for everyone

Does anyone on know what is the current situation when travelling to Dubai. Myself and my Mrs intend to travel in early June for a week. Both of us currently tested positive for covid (pcr) in the last few days, so we'll have a recovery cert, Mrs is boosted I'm not.

Do I need another negative pcr test before I go (within 48hrs) or will the recovery cert do for entry.

    TIA

Do Spain accept the irish covid cert ? or do you need to have it modified to EU standard ?

Has anyone flown to France recently and what's required.

I have covid cert but never got a booster, so it's out of date maybe?

Thailand has ditched both the pre and post flight testing for vaccinated travelers from 1 May.

We booked Europe as we couldn't wait for this summer....Guess we are going next year!!!

New Zealand have opened up to international tourists again, but you need a test as well as vaccinated, who is going to risk that for such a huge trip ?

This is great news for Thailand (& visitors!). I am just back and luckily didn’t run into any problems with the on-arrival testing but brilliant to see that requirement go.

Also, Maya Bay (the beach) has re-opened after having been closed for around 4 years of conservation.

    Happy planning!

Anyone know if Greece are going to drop test requirements for kids? Heading in summer and hoping they drop it.

Apologies lads but I am a bit confused. Is an EU Covid Recovery cert that was issued a month ago acceptable in lieu of an antigen test (within 24 hours) for travel to the US. Heading on Wednesday.

Anybody know the restrictions of masks and stuff in Germany. If required specifically Frankfurt.

No issues with the vax and proof it's more the everyday life.

Is a mask required and if so is an ffp2 mask required?

How's Dublin Airport these days? Planning to fly out next Sunday morning at 8.30 and just wondering if there are still crazy queues through security?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,380 ✭✭✭bikeman1

I was there on Friday afternoon just gone. I was through in 21 minutes. It was very busy, but moved along very well. That was T1 just before the evening wave of flights.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 6,743 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sheep Shagger

Yes and you used to also need a doctors fit to fly note too. Note you can't use verify with a recovery cert.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,337 ✭✭✭Wombatman

So no booster required for EU travel if second dose date is less than 270 days ago?

Here’s my experience. Uploaded my vaccination cert and my recovery Cert to the Verifly app and got my pass to travel. Took a belt and braces approach and got an antigen test just in case but did not upload it to Verifly. Checked in at DUB and asked the check in person if I needed the antigen test as I didn’t have a letter from doc re recovery. She said no, all I needed was to upload the Recovery Cert. US CBP never asked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,430 ✭✭✭bladespin

Any time limits for Recovery cert for Spain or Portugal? The vaccination cert must be within 270 days of arrival from what I can find, no limit n booster certs.

*Edit - just realized there's an expiry date on the recovery cert, thanks anyway.

I found getting in to France, there was no real check. There was just some signs in the airport saying I had to have it. Getting home however, they checked DCC in Paris Orly for me to get through security.

As I posted in another thread,

Wouldn't get yourself too excited just yet, that EASA & ECDC advice is still very vague.

It'll vary by airline depending on the carriers policy and depending on your destination the carrier could still be mandated by domestic legislation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,420 ✭✭✭✭josip

    :)

Almost every European airline that can legally drop mask rules (based on their country's public transport mask rules) has already done so. Aer Lingus being a notable exception. Hopefully Aer Lingus and Ryanair drop them now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,520 ✭✭✭VG31

Aer Lingus mask requirements from Monday

Effective 16 May 2022, face masks are optional on flights between Ireland and certain countries. If your departure or destination country has a mandatory face mask policy on public transport, face masks will still be required on board the aircraft to and from those routes.

    Where are face masks optional?

    Domestic flights: Travel within Ireland

UK flights: Travel between Ireland / Belfast and the UK

Flights within Europe: Travel between Ireland and Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland

Transatlantic flights: Travel between Ireland and the USA | Travel between Manchester and the USA

Where are face masks still required and mandatory?

Flights within Europe: Flights between Ireland and Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey.

(Note: If you are travelling to/from Austria or Italy, you are required to wear an "FFP2" type face mask.)

Transatlantic flights: Flights between Ireland and Canada

France and the Netherlands have announced they are dropping mask rules on flights from the 16th so I'm not sure why they are on the mandatory list. Belgium are also expected to lift mask rules on public transport soon.

    Ryanair mask requirements from Monday

Mask will still be required in flights to the following countries:

    Austria

    Latvia

    Cyprus

    Lithuania

    Czech Republic

    Luxemburg

    Estonia

    Malta

    France

    Netherlands

    Germany

    Portugal

    Greece

    Spain

    Italy

The Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands and possibly Estonia should not be on this list.

I have sympathy for the cabin crew with this. Its going to be even more of a huge pain for them trying to enforce this now. No masks in airports, and no masks on 80% of flights... Good luck having to explain repeatedly to people and trying to force them to keep masks on for the remaining 20%.

Just back from France no covid documents required at the French end.

Biarritz airport no masks required or really anywhere in France except public transport.

Seems back to normal, a few people wearing masks here and there, they largely seemed to have moved on.

Masks required on the plane, Ryanair but the first time I have seen this, not enforced with effort.

There was a number of people on the plane without masks, some just forgot they needed one.

Spain has extended their travel restrictions until June 15.

Czechia have removed all mask requirements too. They still have the odd sign up. No masks on flights, no masks in hotels or in public transport. Maybe 1 in 100 wearing them.

I wonder when will such necessities be no longer needed. No need for PCRs and vaccine proof. I'm not getting a second booster and if a PCR comes back positive then that's a whole pile of money gone.

Already gone for some countries, Greece you don't need anything now, hopefully others will follow soon.

To keep the covidians here happy I guess.

It's bizarre lately they haven't been checking documentation, they just wave you through.

Any plans/rumours about the US relaxing their vaccination requirement for non-US people traveling to the US? How much longer will the requirement remain in place?

    Asking for a friend 🙂

Hi, Could somebody confirm for me please that Spain no longer require the passenger locator form and Covid cert for EU passengers. Am travelling over there tomorrow. Thanks guys.

that’s only if you’re vaccinated. Unvaccinated non citizens are still barred and will probably remain so until next year by all accounts. Djokovic not playing in US open as not allowed in at all, irrespective of testing status

I'm headed to Canada in a bit over two weeks and just wanted to know if the digital covid cert works for the proof of vaccination required for ArriveCan?
