I like both but prefare Flintshire's crows(I think they are) over the bull

    Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire the flag is nicely balanced around bullys head. The whole flag speaks of agriculture probably from a time past. Flintshire is a bit flat in comparison

Oxfordshire. Its got it all. acorns, wheatsheaf and an Ox for Oxford.

    Flintshire, because I like crows.

Two heavyweights here- loads of symbolism.
    Oxfordshire.
The dark blue represents the university as it has done for centuries so thats the reason I m not deducting marks for a white river (The Thames)
The Bull or ox represents the town itself and the the other two symobls the agriculture and forestry of the area.

This could go deep in the tournament

    Flintshire

Love this when you view it with a black background, really makes it a better flag than when it's viewed on white background.

Flintshire looks like something from Game of Thrones

It was a tie at the expiry time. So I'm gonna pick the best reason given and that came from BrianBoru00 in my opinion.
    Oxfordshire.

    Oxfordshire advances to Round 2

That concludes Round 1. We shall kick off the next stage later on this evening. Keep on eye on those followed threads.

I've gotten the Random Number Generator out again so anyone can meet anyone here. As before, 20 minutes per bout with usual T's & C's. First up is an Ireland vs England pairing. Let's check it out.

It's Connacht again for me! Loyal to the fierceness (for now ;))

Oxfordshire trumps here I think.. I do like the Connacht flag though and it would probably win for me if the arm attachment was cleaner

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

I didn't vote for either of these first round, but I really don't like the Connacht* schizo flag, so going for Oxfordshire.

    * at least I spelled it right this time.

Come on Ireland Come on Connaught

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

I like Oxford a lot but ya gotta dance with the gal that brung ya Connaught

  • Registered Users, Subscribers Posts: 47,312 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Oxfordshire - whoever designed the Connacht flag clearly couldn't make their mind up what they wanted

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,382 ✭✭✭✭rainbowtrout

Connacht because it's not symmetrical and the two halves are completely different so it does make you go wtf

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,784 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

Connacht i always thought it was the more attractive of the provincial flags

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

    Not much in it!

    Connacht advances to Round 3

Isle of Man - it's quirky, and not a fan of the colour combination on the other flag
