Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Liverpool were linked during the summer and the reaction was not very positive I'll admit I was one of those people who were underwhelmed. I didn't realise he had this sort of performance in him. Having a good season overall by all accounts.

Cracking finish from Telles there to be fair.

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭BobHopeless

He actually didn't give it it was the lineman under pressure from the crowd, then he booked the wrong player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

Moreno got the booking for kicking the ball away / arguing with the linesman.

It’s not a benefit to the Glazers to have a manager that can’t get out of the CL group stages.

Awful tackle by Telles, lucky not a red

  • Financially it is. get to the Europa Final And repeat the top 4 process next year

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭BobHopeless

Horrific. Other way around and it's a straight red

Need a United winner here to keep Ole at the helm. Come on United

    Barca 2 nil down

A draw will be enough to keep him there. That and a post-match interview where he talks about everyone being against them and how Klopp is preventing them getting penalties.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,328 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

ole will be gone soon after if they don’t make it out of the CL group. You’re nuts if you think he’ll survive that. Their fans storm the ground when they aren’t happy. Once the fans turn, the smart call for the glazers will be to get rid.

Ronaldo looks wrecked altogether... not giving much on the wing.

The second commentator on vm is painful to listen

Embarrassing from Ronaldo that. Not even trying now.

  • Cavani love that man

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

That could be it for Koeman. Talk of them going for Martinez, but I reckon if they're going for another former Everton manager they should go all-in and just call Big Sam.

How the bejesus did Villareal not nick a winner there!?

Some great last ditch stuff from Utd there, but even for all that, Villareal had to convert.

Are United happy with the draw, they've barely had a kick in the last 15 minutes

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭BobHopeless

5 minutes injury time is bad news for United. That's what they get for all that time wasting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    RONALDO!

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭BobHopeless

    Get in.......

Ole at the wheel that bit longer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Haha, he's still ridiculous at finding a way to score

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,023 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Ronaldo nicks it at the death! Have to say, huge huge credit to Cavani. He was the one driving the pressure that stopped Villareal getting out and created the chance.

Ronaldo buys Ole a few more weeks.

Beautiful. Papers over those cracks nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

That's why you have to take your chances. Villarreal only have themselves to blame.

Massive papering over the cracks for Solskjaer.

Wow, just seen that Barca result. 3-0! Koeman has to be a goner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,232 ✭✭✭TheRiverman

Cavani was brilliant in the lead up to the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Same as usual for Ole, just wait for the individual moment from the big players rather than a cohesive team plan/structure of play.

That result will get him another few months anyway.

The effort from Cavani is great to see though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

Fair play to Ole, has his lads fighting to the death.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

When you have a bench that strong and can bring on players of the quality of Lingaard and Cavani, you're always going to have a chance.

Think that's really it for Koeman tonight. Be interesting who they get in, not too many options out there and Xavi might not want to throw in his chips at the moment with such a weak Barca squad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,713 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Still not sure why the late ManU winner wasn't ruled out for offside.

Haven't even heard it mentioned in the analysis at all. Ronaldo scoring seems to be the deciding factor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Why would it be offside? Lingard wasn't interfeering with play while lying on the ground and was onside when he flicked the ball on to Ronaldo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,713 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Right in front of the keeper......like right in front of him as the shot comes in. If the shot even flicked against Lingard it'd be ruled out, but the keeper's eyeline situation seems to have been completely ignored.

We've already seen instances of offside position of players being called into question. Only the weekend just gone in fact.

Have Barca ever failed to make it out of the group in the CL?

Also, terrible red card decision in the Wolfsburg Seville game. Defender won the ball, attacker kicks his studs and defender gets sent off. Even with var ref make that call.

Great win for Juve. Bayern in cruise mode so far in this CL. Very strong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Can Barca actually afford to sack Koeman? Apparently Koeman paid the Dutch FA €5-6m to get out of his contract so he could join them but has a stipulation in his contract that if he doesn't see out his three years Barca have to pay him that €5-6 million plus whatever is left on his contract. So they would owe him over €10m and we all know they are broke.

Everton scored the very same goal against United a couple of seasons ago & it was ruled out but i think it was wrong to be ruled out , The Ref's said although he was out of sight line being on the ground infront of the keeper still give the keeper something to think about as he knows he is there & since he is offside then its a free out ,

For example if the keeper just stops and outs his hand up , instead of trying to save Ronaldo's shot then surely Linguard has interfered with play ? As he is offside & caused the keeper to stop

Ronaldo scoring goals like everyone knew he would but there is huge question of are United are a worse team with him in the side,

    Teams for the early game:

Club Brugge XI: Mignolet; Mata, Hendry, Nsoki, Sobol; Sowah, Rits, Alvarez, Lang; Vanaken; De Ketelaere.

Man City XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Mahrez, Grealish, Foden.

De Ketelaere impressed against PSG so keen to see how he does here. Strong side from Pep though no Jesus again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

Mignolet should have done a lot better for goals 3 and 4 there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Everything going right for Guardiola. Youngster Cole Palmer gets a goal. They've totally outclassed Brugge. Still 20 odd minutes to go.

Palmer nearly involved in another goal. Looks a quality prospect.

Icardi missing for PSG due to 'family reasons'. His wife Wanda accused him of cheating on her on social media recently.
