Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's a blatant penalty on Idah.

Italy got a penalty from VAR for less contact than that.

Some good football at times but I definitely think the missing piece at times is an unwillingness to carry the ball forward more.

It's a constant want to pass our way out to start every attack. Its to slow and predictable.

But they're definitely getting proficient at passing it around in tight spots. If we could just add an extra string to the bow where if there's space in front of you, charge the fcuk into it.

Need a bit more urgency and pace going forward, too many backward passes for my liking. Ogbene has them frightened, need to use him more. We look a bit susceptible on the break too. Just need to get a goal from somewhere.

I think by playing Idah over McGrath we offer slightly more of an attacking threat but are more open in midfield. Hendrick has been anonymous tonight but I think it's because he's trying to cover the role McGrath was doing for us as well as his own role.

Unfortunately I don't think Idah justifies his selection yet as he is not giving us enough of a threat going forward. These guys are there for the taking, although they are good at pressing and making our defence look uncomfortable when we're in possession.

Should have made more from our corners but eventually we might

    Entertaining game

I'd give Will Keane a chance in the second half.

Jaysus Liam Brady has some chip on his shoulder. He can’t say anything positive about the team at all.

For those who do not get Peter Collins - 'Inspector Gadget' reference in relation to Gavin Bazunu....

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

If it is still scoreless with half an hour to go, I'd be looking to get Keane on. More likely to get on the end of a cross

Do you want the fella to lie? He was a top midfielder in his day and knows what a midfielder should try and do.

Sadlier has just said every area can improve.

It would be a bit of a gamble, but I think bringing Parrott on for Idah could help.

Robinson is crying out for someone who he can link up with who has quick feet and is capable of playing one touch football. Parrott would fit the bill and might help speed up the transitions and give us a greater threat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,990 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Yeah they're organised in attack and their midfield trio work well as a unit but they've been sloppy and nervous in defence. Think they'll drop deeper in the second half.

Completely agree. He offers the best attacking threat from the bench.

I'd like to see Hourihane or Knight for Hendrick too.

There were positive things during the first half too. He only focuses on the negative.

We've done well away from home to a team that's at our level...think we can nick this one to be honest..

The **** is the story with this ref?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

More than a whiff of hometown ref and officials here. We're not going to get any of the 50/50 decisions.

    Should be 1 nil Luxembourg

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

What a miss they should have buried that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,916 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Sadlier was not impressed either. The two lads can only call it as they see. Brady has given Ogbene praise (that was positive) but has said that midfield should do a better job getting the ball. I think you are only hearing what you want to hear at this stage. The studio should only mention positive stuff?? Sounds like what North Korea did during the WC?

hendrick go on away home ffs

Ah shur I forget you’re a Kenny out man too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,008 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Why the **** are we passing the ball around in corners. And worse losing it.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Jesus Hendrick. What kind of a pass was that?

Cullen will hardly have to serve a suspension going into a new qualification will he?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

I think I'd be looking at making a couple of changes now. Freshen it up a bit.

The ref is a fcuking joke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,916 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

This is more guff any negative criticism = Kenny out. Not true. I never once called for Kenny out or Kenny to be sacked - check my comments. The FAI can't afford it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Why did the ref let it go on so long? Saw him put whistle to lips straight away, Ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,318 ✭✭✭ratracer

I’ve been annoyed by Brady, but they weren’t wrong with their comments!

Lucky there, but an obvious free out in the build up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,179 ✭✭✭Xander10

A great Ref, don't know what you are all talking about

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Got away with one there that was never a foul on Duffy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,501 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

It’s a free but Duffy needs to be stronger there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭lintdrummer

Got away with that, there wasn't much in the push. But what was the ref doing waiting so long to call it?

Wow we're blessed here to be level

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

I understand linesmen not flagging for offside initially, but you're the fcuking referee. If you see a blatant foul, blow for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,591 ✭✭✭LowOdour

Id be taking Duffy off...seems really off his game and whole defence is wobbly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Duffy has not had a good game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,488 ✭✭✭pgj2015

    Get Duffy off now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,008 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

We are going to get a red - changes needed.

How are we blessed? We should have had a penalty in the first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,643 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

This is a shocking bad game. Neither side can put 2 passes together, really poor standard. We're lucky to be level as it stands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,600 ✭✭✭✭siblers

This is dreadful at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

We really are shaky as fcuk at the back. Anytime the ball goes in there at all you can sense the jitters. It'll be a miracle if we can keep a clean sheet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,916 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

And take away Ireland's best chance of goal? (Either end of the pitch)

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
