Latest O’Devaney Gardens development

    So the latest proposal to redevelop O'Devaney Gardens proposal has been sent off for planning approval:

    'Development consists of 1,047 residential units across 10 blocks up to 14 storeys tall'

    Was on a Stoneybatter page on Facebook and it was getting a lot of pushback; the usual scale too big, not enough family homes/houses, all about profits, yada, yada.

    But I think it looks pretty appropriate for the location. It's a fairly big site, pretty close to the city centre with lots of transport options nearby. In addition it's right beside one of the biggest urban parks in Europe, a massive benefit.

    This whole saga has been going on decades, so I hope that it gets built and not once again shelved for whatever reason.
