Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These short free kicks are pointless from England. Put it into the box. They had to go back
to the keeper and lost possession. No reason for opponents not to stop them with a foul.

Cmon Scotland, ya artery clogged numpties

The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

    A good result for Scotland.

If England want to be contenders, they will need to find a few extra gears.

I'm guessing here, but perhaps they will show the Scotland game on RTE 2 and the England game on the RTE News channel?

Feared the worst for Scotland but they were immense. The composure of their midfield was most impressive.

The Foden substitution was an absolute brainfart. By all means bring on Grealish but not at Foden's expense.

606 is on BBC 5 soon I can't wait to listen to outraged callers from Essex giving out about tactics to Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton. I love Chris Sutton he's hilarious.

Felt more like a goodwill gesture than a real game between the pair.
I was hoping for the big Aussie to get his bonce on one and bury it but it never came to be

HK looked tired and not in the game at all (no service from midfield didn't help)

Sterling, Rice and Philips very poor.

Scotland played well, deserved the point, maybe more!

I think they (Scotland) will do the business and get through to next round.

England, ah, yet again overhyped and may not fair well without the support of the fans. Why do the English fans boo instead of getting behind the team? Guess Rooney was onto something after all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

That tie between Scotland and Croatia is looking like a humdinger. Thought Croatia looked very poor today, a shadow of the side they were, so disjointed and leggy, but they still have Modric and other players who can produce a bit of magic.

Scotland looked very composed and organised, but they really have no threat going forward. It could be very hard to perform at that level of commitment and concentration for another game.

Can't call it. Both teams have to try to win it.

England should have enough to get what they need from the Czechs, but they're a collection of individuals rather than a team. And you can already sense the level of anxiety and stress building. 2018 was fun, there was zero expectation on them, but they've built a rod for their own backs - as usual - with their own hype.

Seriously how did Southgate get the job ?

After England's most successful manager with a 100% win record tried to run from the buffet with a full tray of sausages but forgot he'd previously tied his shoelaces together- the FA were left looking for another full-blooded Anglo-Saxon haling from the Home Counties.

Gareth Southgate was hanging around the FA headquarters photographing instances of bad parking. The FA peeking out from the venetian blinds loudly proclamed "That our man!" or "He'll do for now" (citation needed).

In fairness Gareth got them to a WC Semi's. However this was sandwiched between a fairly listless managerial history and some iffy performances and results.

"But never mind the ****ing experts, we can survive like lords licking the jam off individual player's talents, general congeniality and the Premiership's standing in world club football and we can fling the unnecessary bread buns of foreign influence into the bin. Who needs sustenance and reality when you've got sweet things and dreams!".

England looks like one of those Finnish Hobby Horse Gymkhanas going on in a pub's beer garden whilst the Continentals are out front Square-Bashing with the Horse-Drawn cavalry.
