Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry guys, what I meant is, which other country goes through if this game ends in a draw and Scotland and Croatia go out ?

Probably one of the teams that finished, or will finish on 3 points... won't be fully decided until the last 2 groups finish tomorrow...

RTÉ might show a chart later of the 3rd place teams league table, and who's going through..

Thought it was 3 from each group goes through ?

4 of the best 3rd place finishers, so I’d imagine it goes back to Finland maybe? Unless some the teams tomorrow can get 3 points too?

It's the 4 best 3rd places from the 6 groups. Both would finish on 2 points, so they'd be almost guaranteed to be in the bottom 2 third place finishers.

of the 6 groups, the 4 best place 3rd place teams go through.... Thats how we went through in Italia 90, and in Euro 2016

In 1990 Argentine finished 3rd in their group and made it to the final

Same in 1994 where Italy finished 3rd in the group (behind Ireland & Mexico), and ended up in the final.

in 2016 Portugal finished 3rd in their group with 3 points and ended up winning the competition.

Your man is doing an okay job commentating all by himself, he's actually less irritating than most of them.

I remember David Marshall was brilliant for Celtic against Barcelona in the UEFA Cup in 2004, have to say I haven't heard much of him since.

That's class. That feels like a winning goal.

Reminiscent of Ineista against Chelsea in the champions league.

    Outrageous strike.

Edit - Ally McCoist is absolutely crushed on itv. Nearly feel bad for him.

My missus just goes "I used to quite fancy Ally McCoist"

I just flashed her a look that nearly took her head clean off.

if that isn't reasonable grounds for divorce I dont know what is.

Roger Federer is doing a grand job managing Croatia. Needs to change out of those tennis trainers and into a proper pair of shoes, though.

Not watching them. Does it look much likely at the minute?

This could be his best chance of winning a title on the grass this year!

Switched over to the England game after Scotland went down 3-1, its looking like Sancho is finally about to get on in the 83rd minute

I can't help enjoying watching Scotland lose for some reason. I enjoyed them being perennial losers for the last 20-odd years while we got into a few tournaments, although we're unlikely to qualify for anything any time soon.

Our future prospects are incredibly bleak. We don't have anything like the infrastructure that the Scots do. They seem to be producing decent players again as well.

    The Scots continue their pattern.
All goals scored by a Mac or Mc
Only score in last group game
    Not getting out of group

At least they got their moral victory v the auld enemy

They are still a classy outfit ~ that can dictate the tempo, if needs be. And they need it the old gits

I've given up on us for the next couple of tournaments anyway. Hopefully we get 2 or 3 top players in the coming years, surely we're due a couple at this stage.

I honestly think we're way behind the likes of Scotland and they're extremely limited. Some of their build up play and combinations down the wing and in the midfield are a level above what we can offer and they are functional, not silky. They are as similarly useless as ourselves up front.

Top spot in that group looks like a bit of poison chalice.

Potential opponents - France, Germany, Portugal.

I don't know. They had a favourable enough run through to the semis of the world Cup - Columbia and Sweden - and then fell at the first quality side they met in Croatia. He gets lucky when they are up against sides they should beat, but I have no doubt they'll lose to whoever they'll face in the last 16.

They're England: they'll fuck it up.
