What are people's experiences with having Google services on the p40 pro.

It's the only issue I'm having with to comes to buying one.

There are workarounds - https://www.xda-developers.com/googlefier-easily-install-gms-huawei-honor-devices/ - but there may be stumbling blocks with SafetyNet/ Huawei Pay

Those workarounds are failing and won't work on a FW post Dec 2020 unless it can be rolled back to an earlier version.

On the failing front, I have a MatePad Pro that was Googleified via the above and it worked flawlessly from Nov 2020 upto the start of this month.
Since the start of June, Gapps won't launch, no chrome, mail or store and no workaround I've found as yet.
Even self signing and adding device ID manually to Google as per "custom" ROMs, no change and still fails.
I'd guess root access and editing the device ID would solve this but afaik noone has achieved root for p40 as yet? And bootloader is locked so it is really a shame (same with MatePad Pro if you don't have workaround)

Hardware wise the p40 is great but if Gapps are needed?
    Think twice IMO
